Part One Once upon a time there was a strong and very handsome young prince who just so happened to be the heir to the Kingdom of Horton. Despite having the best hair for miles around, and being constantly pursued by the village opera diva, the prince was a little sad and lonely. He greatly missed his best friend, the fair maiden Sami Gene. No one had seen or heard from Sami Gene for years and years, or was it days and days? Anyhow, Sami Gene had been ruthlessly captured by the hideously gargoyled twelve year old heir to the Dark Kingdom of Aredim, nicknamed "Dark Dim", but no one knew it. Nearly everyone just assumed that she had run off with the village idiot, Sir Austin of Reeds. Little did they know that Sir Austin was being held hostage by she of the scarlett letter, Mistress Carrie Cheats-a-lot, but that's a tale for another time. The handsome prince knew better. He knew that his beloved Sami Gene would never betray him with the village idiot. He suspected that the Dark Kingdom of Aredim was behind it all, so he waited, and watched their castle by night, and one evening his observations paid off, as he witnessed Dark Dim sneaking into the root cellar in the back courtyard. Stealthly he followed, his sword at the ready... TBC.

The handsome prince with the great hair, groaned internally. The last thing he needed right now was fair maiden Sami Gene's bumbling father's interference. He prayed that his presence hadn't been revealed. Fortunately for the handsome prince with the great hair, the gargoyle's on Dark Dim's face blocked his pointy ears, keeping him from hearing well. "Are ya deaf boy? What da hell are ya doin?" "I'm looking for your daughter." The handsome prince with the great hair hissed into the shadows. "She's with the village idiot, Sir Austin of Reeds. They ran away together." "No she's not." The handsome prince with the great hair said with more than a touch of irritation in his voice. He had grown so tired of everyone always assuming the worst about his beautiful and loving Sami Gene. "I'm telling ya boy. She's with him. Two witnesses saw her leave." "Oh really?" The handsome prince with the great hair, snarled. "And who would those people be?" "Lady Alexandra of Aredim and Mistress Melanie of the Layton." "You're seriously taking the word of those two women? The bastard daughter of the town witch, and the woman who pushed my cousin Nicholas over the Cliffs of Insanity?" "Why da hell wouldn't I?" "Why wouldn't you? Why would you? Why do you always believe the worst about Sami Gene?" The handsome prince with the great hair practically shouted. Realizing how loud he'd become, he quickly glanced in the direction he'd last seen Dark Dim. "Oh no!" "What da hell da ya mean, 'oh no'?" "It's Dark Dim. He's gotten away!" Both men moved to follow in the direction Dark Dim had taken, when suddenly a scream pierced the air. "That's the fair maiden Sami Gene!" The handsome prince with the great hair yelled. "We must rescue her at once!" TBC.

Sami Gene threatened as she scanned the darkened cellar for anything that could be used as a weapon. "Or you'll do what?" The hideously gargoyled twelve year old heir to the Kingdom of Aredim, aka Dark Dim snarled in his unusually high-pitched voice. "Or I'll stab you with this stoker!" Sami shouted, at the same time lunging for the fireplace poker that had conveniently been left propped up against the wall beside her. She waved it at her gargoyled nemesis. "You take one more step and I'll impale this through your heart." Dark Dim threw back his head and giggled. "Ha! You expect me to believe that you, a lowly female, and a commoner to boot, would actually dare to harm me?" "What makes you think I won't?" The fair maiden Sami Gene replied, still holding the stoker steady. "Because if you harm a hair on my body, your family will be cursed for eternity!" The fair maiden Sami Gene scoffed, "You honestly expect me to believe that crap?" Darm Dim frowned. "Of course. Everyone believes it." The fair maiden Sami Gene shook her head. "I don't. I don't believe any of that eternal curse garbage. You make your own destiny." "But that's not what I've been taught." "Who's your teacher?" "Celeste, my half-sister Lady Alexandra's mother." "You believe the word of the village witch?" The fair maiden Sami Gene almost felt sorry for the poor misguided little gargoyled creature. "No wonder you're so screwed up." "Am not!" Dark Dim whined, stomping his foot down in agitation. "Liar, liar, pants on FIRE!" His temper got the best of him. "Get out of here! Leave! Don't ever come back. I don't want to ever see you again! Don't even try sending Mercury himself. I won't hear it! Get out NOW!!! And tell your stupid family, and everyone in the Kingdom of Horton the same thing! From now on, the Dark Kingdom of Aredim just wants to be left alone!" The fair maiden Sami Gene shrugged. "Okay." Feeling rather pleased with her accomplishment, the fair maiden Sami Gene swung open the door, and to her surprise found the handsome prince with the great hair, waiting for her. She noted the smirk on his face. "You heard all of that?" The handsome prince with the great hair's smirk grew into a loving smile. "Of course. Handled beautifully my love." "Do you think he'll stick to it? That we're finally free of those monsters?" "Indeed, we are." He held out his hand. "Come my love. It's time." "For?" "We're to be married this afternoon. I was about to rescue you, but then realized that you'd already rescued yourself. So I sent your father off to notify everyone." "What?" It wasn't that she objected to the notion of marriage to him, far from it. The handsome prince with the great hair was the best catch in the kingdom. But surely he'd never consider marrying a commoner like her. She told him just as much. The handsome prince with the great hair threw back his head and laughed. "Oh Sami Gene, there is nothing common about you. I love you. Come on, let's go marry, and tonight we'll throw the biggest celebration the Kingdom of Horton has ever seen." "And after that?" The fair maiden Sami Gene asked, as she took his hand and they walked back into the light. "And then start working on making beautiful Horton heirs and creating our happily ever after." The End.
