"If you follow Alison online, then you know she often tweets while on set at Days. For example, she updated her fans the very first time her British co-star, James Scott (EJ), enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Stunned that James had never eaten one before, Alison recalled, “I was like, ‘You’ve been in this country for so long’ and he’s like, ‘It’s a kid thing’ and I was like, ‘It’s an everybody thing.’”

While some of Alison’s co-stars have left, others have entered her life, namely, Galen Gering (Rafe), who Sweeney couldn’t be happier to work with. “He’s so much fun. He is so much fun to work with and we’re having a great time. It’s funny because I’ve known him for so long from Passions. NBC is such a great family and we’re so lucky to be in an industry where we are like a family unit where even all the soaps, all the actors know each other from all the different soaps. We’re all friends and it is like a family, so having Galen and Eric (Martsolf, Brady) join the cast, it was so great to see them because we go way back.”

Since we were on the topic of the men in Sami’s life, I asked who she thought Sami should be with: Lucas, EJ or Rafe?

“Oh my gosh, are you trying to get me in trouble with my fans? You can’t ask that,” she laughed. “I tweet a lot, but that is one topic I am now scared to talk about because you say one thing and the fans get all kinds of crazy on you. Here’s the thing: I couldn’t be luckier. I love working with James, I love working with Galen, I love working with Bryan (Dattilo, Lucas). I enjoy Sami’s character right now. It’s so interesting to see how she’s grown and changed. I think the relationship with Rafe is definitely a different one from the way she’s been in the past and I think Sami’s different right now, the way they’re writing her is more, she’s growing up in some ways so it’s fun to play that. So I’m really enjoy the storyline and the direction it’s taking right now. I’m just along for the ride so we’ll see where it takes me.”

At least someone does!
Do you remember what she told him? She took her lover’s hand, and she said, “just because something is intangible doesn't mean that it's not real.” Lucas, no matter what happens, no matter what we’ve been through, no matter what I say, you will always be in my heart. -- Sami Brady, November 2007

To be accurate, there is only one fan group that "get all kinds of crazy" when they don't like something. That "craziness" isn't coming from Lumi or Safe fans.

It is really unfortunate that AS and JS seem to feel so much pressure to be diplomatic when neither of them are responsible for what has happened or is going to happen in the future. Yet, I'm not sure that either of them fully appreciate that this is not just the usual soap fan war over who gets the girl - a vital real life issue is at stake here. It doesn't matter whether the characters are fictional or not, glorifying rape (and now domestic violence as well) promotes a very dangerous message. DOOL fully understands their influence when it comes to topics like the environment and autism, so I know they are not unaware of the power of the stories they tell. That is what makes this rapemi crap even more perplexing and offensive. The decision makers at DOOL (not the actors) have been inexcusably irresponsible about an issue that is truly a life and death matter for real life women.

I really understand the instinct to be diplomatic to fans, but I do wish that AS, JS, DH, etc. would all acknowledge that what ej did to Sami is in fact rape, that there is no acceptable justification for his behavior, and that rapists are never rewarded by having their victim develop "feelings" for them. That is the very dangerous idea that DOOL has been promoting for the past year. Not only does that need to end immediately; it needs to be appropriately rectified.

Ali did a lot of interviews didn't she? This is like her three in a week. But I don't get or agree Sami has matured at all. Is Ali reading a different script or something? But thanks for sharing.

Thank you both. I don't have a FB and you are welcome to post it or whatever portions you think are appropriate.
