"Days of Our Lives" has received 13 Daytime Emmy nominations, the most in the show's history. The series' previous record was 11 nominations in 1998. "Days" received more nominations than all but two series ("All My Children" and "Sesame Street.") In its history, "Days" has now received 183 Daytime Emmy nominations overall. The Daytime Emmy Awards will be aired on The CW Network on Sunday, August 30, 2009. 46 individuals received nominations for "Days" this year. In the acting categories, after playing Bo Brady for 20 years, Peter Reckell received his first-ever nomination as lead actor. Darin Brooks (Max Brady) and Rachel Melvin (Chelsea Brady) were nominated for the second consecutive year in the younger actor & actress categories. Brooks will be competing against Blake Berris (ex-Nick Fallon), who received his first-ever nomination. Tamara Braun (ex-Ava Vitali) is nominated in the supporting actress category. It is her second nomination, having been previously nominated as lead actress for her work on "General Hospital" in 2004. For the first time since 1999, and for the 15th time overall, "Days of Our Lives" has been nominated for outstanding drama series. In other categories, "Days" has been nominated for Directing Team (its 18th nomination in that category); Marnie Saitta has been nominated for Casting Director ("Days" first-ever nomination in that category); Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design (its 4th nomination in that category); Lighting Direction (14th nomination); Makeup (14th nomination); Sound Mixing (7th nomination); and Music (8th nomination).
