and the break. Sigh. Hopefully JMDP can keep his head up.

I hope this isn't where Juan becomes Tommy Haas.

Rafa made a point of mentioning how knowlegeable the British fans are in his statement announcing he was pulling out of Queens. He's not happy about how he was treated.

Rafa shouldn't be happy about it. It's embarassing how he was treated--3 time champ, undefeated and all-around nice guy. They should be ashamed of themselves.

JMDP meltdown?

Grrr. Double fault. I suspect some kind of hexing. Someone should keep an eye on Mirka.

And ladies and gentleman, it appears Tommy Haas has entered Chatrier!

It was good while it lasted. Soderling (hopefully) won't choke Sunday.

They did? No way! What a bunch of clowns.

When's Mrs. Fed due anyway? Is there any chance she gives birth just in time for Rog to miss the US Open?

I'll say this: Fed's win here will be well-deserved. He's played some tough matches with guys not afraid to go gunning for him. I'll give props for that.

Alright, Juan. New set, new attitude. Play like you've got nothing to lose.

JMDP is dubious. I can't believe he folded in that last set.

I'm just frustrated with him and being too harsh. He's probably just tired. That's why his serve has left the building.

See, the thing that flummoxes me is these guys play really great for awhile, and then they realize they're playing Fed and they freeze. Hopefully Sod won't be the next victim of this phenomenon.

I gotta give credit to anyone who can play the game as well as these guys can.

If Roger wins, I want Sod to cry on the podium and say, "this is killing me!" ;)

And you're right...it takes so much energy to win two sets against guys like Fed and Rafa. By the time they've done it, the gas tank is on "E."

Oh well...I'll still watch Sunday. Until it becomes apparent that Roger's going to win. Which could be one set! ;)

I would LOVE that.

I'm not watching the final. Yeah, yeah good for Fed but I don't like him so I'm not invested. I'm sure he'll be as smug and entitled about it as I expect.

It's the mental toughness that thes guys don't have. Fed's just got the confidence to see it through. JMDP is still young though and shows a lot of promise. I just wish he'd get some freaking 1st serves in! At least go out with a bang.

Wow, Juan has folded like a lawn chair. Just too much to ask of him today. He did much better than I thought he would.

Oh, Roger will be smug alright. He'll fall on the clay and cry. And I'll want to puke, so I'll just skip it.

Like I said, I'll watch for a little on Sunday to see if Soderling has the nerve to do be the skunk at the party. If not, it's going to be a gorgeous day and there are better ways to spend a day.

Yeah, I get to meet one of my favorite musicians of all time Sunday night so I won't taint my day with that tomfoolery.

So I'm altering my women's final prediction slightly. If Sveta wins the first set and then chokes in the 2nd, I think she'll win. Any other scenario, Safina takes it.

I think you're right re: Sveta. I'll be happy with either winning, I think. They've both played great this fortnight and have earned it.

How exciting for you. Who's the musician?

Agreed. They both deserve to be in the final. I'll definitely be listening in on that match.

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. Long story short, if you donate some money to help this dude get a heart transplant, you get to go to soundcheck and a meet and greet for his show where he'll take pictures and sign autographs, etc. My friend and I split a donation so we're hooking it up!
