No, she is not surprised he helped her, but is surprised that he lied for her, that is not him. He paints the picture of Nicole’s reaction when she had the miscarriage, reminding Sami of how much Nicole loves EJ and wanted to give him a child. When Nicole found Mia, it was the answer to her prayers. Sami is sympathetic, understanding, and truly seems to feel sorry for Nicole now.
