Author: Luvinglumi Rating: PG-13 Here is the link for: Chapter Two What If? (Chapter Three) The table had been set for dinner. Rafe had bought the wine and Arianna managed to bake a pumpkin pie and it looked mighty good too. She even bought some home made whipped cream to accompany the pie. Sami had managed to get a turkey at Piggly Wiggly because frankly she didn’t want to take her chances with her track record for ruining important holiday dinners. The turkey was being re-heated in addition to the stuffing, and sweet potato and green bean casseroles. The only missing piece was Lucas and his cranberry sauce. Just at that time someone knocked at the door and Will rushed over, “That must be Dad.” Sure enough as Will opened the door Lucas’ voice transcended the room, “Happy Thanksgiving son!” “Hi Dad, Happy Thanksgiving.” Will reached over and hugged his dad as he was greeting him. “Hello everyone, Happy Thanksgiving.” Lucas said as he stepped into the living room of Sami’s townhouse. Sami proceeded to remove her apron as she made her way from the kitchen into the living room and Lucas chuckled. “Why on earth are you wearing an apron Sami?” Sami gave him a wise smirk and stated, “Okay, Happy Thanksgiving to you too.” You are not here for 2 minutes and you already know that I didn’t really cook the turkey.” The frankness of her words caught Rafe off guard and he thought to himself. “Wow, he didn’t even see her for one second and he knew she hadn’t cooked and why she was making a spectacle with the apron and all. What is up with that?” Sami proceeded to give Lucas a friendly soft punch on the arm and took the cranberry sauce bowl he had bought with him. “You cooked these yourself?” Sami questioned and Lucas was taken aback. “You ask me that? I think you know the answer to that question Sami. You know me.” As he said the last word he glanced at Rafe who was looking straight at Sami to see if he could catch her expression. “I always cook and never order, so yes that is my cranberry sauce and it’s perfection at it’s best.” “Oh Lucas, it doesn’t take much to do cranberry sauce, now if you would have cooked the turkey, that would be a different story.” Sami stared back at Lucas and started to laugh. “Sami, I have cooked turkeys before you know and they always turn out juicy on the inside but golden brown on the outside.” “Okay Mr. Ego, let me formally introduce you. Rafe, this is Lucas.” Lucas extended his right hand for a handshake and Rafe extended his, they cordially shook hands and wished each other a happy holiday. Rafe was first to speak, “So I’ve heard a lot about you.” “Really?” Lucas stated. “Good things only I hope.” “Yes, Sami has told me everything about you.” Rafe said and took a glance over at Sami. “No, I don’t think she’s told you everything, but that is okay, I didn’t expect her to.” Lucas was so confident in the way the words came out that Rafe looked at Sami and he frowned. Sami jumped in again and moved over to introduce Arianna. “Ari this is Lucas, Lucas this is Arianna, Rafe’s sister.” “We’ve already met Sami; I ran into her at Java café the other day and introduced myself. Hi Ari!” Lucas said as he extended to take a hold of her hand and kissed it tenderly as if she was an old maiden. Ari blushed and simply said, “I’m so glad to see you again, you made me laugh so much the other day.” “Yep that is me, Lucas Horton always a way with the ladies.” “Made you laugh? What did he say?” Sami jumped in a rather defensive mode and directed her question at Arianna. “Oh nothing he is so funny Sami, I would have never guessed from your description of Lucas that he was so sweet, funny and well so good looking.” Lucas approached Sami, “your description of me didn’t contain what a great sense of humor I have, that I’m as sweet as apple pie and that I’m the best man you could ever set your eyes on.” Sami stepped back with the bowl of cranberry sauce in hand and tripped over her own feet. She jerked slightly forward and the entire bowl of cranberries landed squarely on Lucas’ shirt. The entire front of his shirt was now doused with red candied sauce. “Oh well, I guess I couldn’t expect this day to go by without a classic Sami mishap.” “Oh Lucas, take the shirt off pronto or else the stain will set in.” “Your wish is my command.” As soon as Sami finished the sentence he was already unbuttoning his shirt and the next thing Sami saw was Arianna staring at a very bare chested Lucas. Arianna’s jaw was slightly open and her eyes were virtually popping out of her head. When Sami saw that she did a double take toward Arianna and started getting very defensive and angry. Lucas noticed Arianna’s stare but he was more focused on Sami’s reaction and she was furious. Her lips were clenched and she started making a fist and pounding it against her other hand. Lucas just smirked and asked Sami if she had anything he could wear while she washed that shirt for him. “I have something; I think you could fit into.” Rafe said as he got up from the couch and approached Lucas. “I have this wonderful blue shirt that Sami gave me when I first came here to Salem. I had taken a shower here in her apartment after getting oil doused on me while trying to fix her car and she had this laying around and gave it to me. I’ll go find it for you.” “Let me guess, it’s a blue pullover with just a few buttons on top.” Lucas was annoyed, this was his shirt! What the heck was it still doing here and why did Sami give it to Rafe to wear one day. “Yes, that is a perfect description of it, how do you know what it looks like?” Rafe questioned Lucas as Sami tried to stop Lucas from answering. “Oh common you two, it’s almost time for dinner, Rafe can you carve the turkey for me honey, and I’ll get Lucas a shirt?” Sami said to Rafe hoping he would jump at the opportunity to go to the kitchen so she could confront Lucas about the shirt. Rafe obliged and proceeded to make his way to the kitchen. “What the heck is wrong with you Sami? You give the guy my shirt to wear? What happened ha? You couldn’t bear to be with him unless he looked like me and smelled like me?” Lucas was furious but in a way he loved that he could still get under her skin. “Stop it, Lucas” Sami whispered and dragged Lucas by the arm into the bedroom. “You want me to close the door?” Lucas said with a grin from ear to ear. “No, you stay right there General and don’t move.” Lucas moved back and extended his right hand and placed it on the wooden frame of the door. Sami opened up the closet and took out a box from the corner of the top shelf. The box was white and had a top to it that she had to open with a key. She moved a wooden plank from the inner closet floor and got the key which opened the box. “What are you doing Sami?” Lucas’ stare grew. “I’m getting you a shirt. Your shirt.” Sami glanced up at him and then proceeded to open the box cover. “My shirt? You still have my stuff here?” Lucas was confused. He couldn’t believe that Sami would keep anything of his let alone a shirt. Sami whispered so Rafe wouldn’t hear. “I didn’t give him your blue shirt, I had unpacked it and was about to place it in this box when he came out of the bathroom looking for something to wear. He grabbed the shirt that was lying on top of the bed at the time and I didn’t want to tell him that it was yours so I told him it was Will’s. I didn’t want to hurt him by disclosing that I had a bunch of your stuff to stash away for memories. I keep them in this box that Rafe doesn’t know about.” “What other stuff do you have in that box? Can I see, please?” Lucas squatted in front of the box that Sami had just opened. Sami took the shirt and gave it to him to wear. He quickly pulled it over his head. Lucas extended his hand and found a picture of Sami, Will and him taken during the camping trip. He grinned at Sami. Then he set his eyes on their wedding portrait. Sami was radiant and he couldn’t forget the thought of her walking down the aisle, or reciting her vows. Sami looked so sad while staring at the picture and as she looked back at him he noticed that her eyes had gotten watery. He then saw a CD cover and noticed it was the cover to their song, the one they danced to while teaching Will how to dance. Will of course never learned from watching them because he didn’t even stay through the entire dance, but somehow they had managed to finish the dance and the song. “You Are Home to Me.” Lucas stated while his eyes focused on Sami’s face and Sami didn’t look up at him. She then picked up a necklace as she pulled the necklace from the box he noticed what is was. It was the necklace that she wore around her neck that contained her wedding ring to him and at the end of the necklace there was the ring. He had given her their ring back after she married Elvis and she promised to keep it around her neck on that necklace as long as it couldn’t be on her finger. He tenderly caressed the ring and looked up at her and noticed she was crying. He took his hand and stroked her cheek and extended his arm to hug her and quietly whispered, “Don’t cry, you know I hate to see you cry Sami.” Sami buried her head in his shoulder and kept sobbing. “Stop Sami, please.” Lucas whispered. “You know I still blame myself for everything. I was so stupid, why did I let him manipulate me like that? We could have been so happy, we would have still been together you know, I’m sure of it.” Sami looked at him while the tears ran down her face. “It happened, we can’t change the past, it’s the future we got to worry about and if you still feel this way about us, you can’t marry Rafe.” As Lucas said this, Arianna was propped up behind the hallway wall and she would peek in and could see that the woman that should be so devoted to her brother was now being hugged and consoled by her former husband. Ari wasn’t thinking about Rafe now. She didn’t care about how he would feel if he walked in on this show of caring and affection. Arianna was jealous of Sami, and she had to find a way to separate Lucas from Sami and not for Rafe’s benefit but for her own. {to be continued} Edited by luvinglumi, Friday Nov 27 2009, 12:23 AM.

This is definately Lucas and Sami and I love how Lucas is determined to take Sami away from Rafe and knows that he can and that he will suceed and that he knows how to push Sami's buttons just like she knows how to push Lucas buttons and well. Very nice touch with Sami calling Lucas general. I love that Lucas is putting the moves on Sami and that Sami wants Lucas even though she hasn't fully come out and admit and is living in a little bit of denial about it but I think she soon will shes jealous of Arianna looking at her Lucas already like shes ready to jump all over Ari and fight her if she has too in a hair pulling food throwing cat fight to fight her off and to keep her away from her Lucas. I love that Sami still has all of Lucas stuff still at her place and even though shes with Rafe right now and engaged to him I truly think she will eventually wind up calling off the wedding. Shes not as happy with Rafe as she thinks she is and seeing Ari eyeing Lucas when he was taking off his shirt after she spilled the cranberry sause on his shirt when she stumbled forward where it winded on landing on Lucas shirt while shes with Rafe at the moment is not making her very happy could it be that she would rather be with Lucas its sounds like it just from the tone in her voice and the jealousy she displaced toward Ari when she asked what questions and saw Ari eyeing Lucas and Lucas jealousy was coming out as well about Rafe I had to laugh out loud that Lucas did not want any of his donuts going to Rafe and that they were for him and his and not the other person that is definately something Lucas would do. I can't wait to see whatelse Lucas does in order to make his move on Sami and to mess with Rafe at the same time. Lucas and Sami are dancing around their feelings for one another that they still feel for one another and Sami felt something when she kissed Lucas again she just needs to admit it and not let Ari get her hooks into Lucas and make a move a claim her man Lucas and do something about this. I love how Lucas and Sami are truly one in the same and are identically in every way and that they act the same when Sami takes a interest in another man and Lucas takes an interest or has another woman take an interest in him and they both will find a way to sabatoge each others relationships when one or the other are with other people and will find a way to always insert themselves in the middle of it so they can be close to one another and work on pushing each others buttons making their move on one another to the point where they both know they will give into to one another and succeed in having the other rebound relationships called off and wind up getting back together again. Ari won't know what hit her and will be suprised when a food fight or hair pulling experience comes out of this where Sami is ready to claw her eyes out over Lucas if she has too and she pulls her off Lucas and she and Ari will go at it where Rafe and Lucas both may have a hard time pulling Sami off of Ari if she dare makes her move on her Lucas in any way and then once she gets a hold of Ari it will be hard to pull Sami off her if Ari were to make a move on him. It looks like Rafe is starting to catch somewhat of a clue of whats going on but not a full clue yet as to what Sami and Lucas did when they kissed each other Sami needs to tell Rafe and get this out in the open that she kissed Lucas and that she still has feelings for him. It sounds like Rafes insecurities are coming out big time but maybe just maybe after hearing Sami talk about Lucas all the time he knows hes not going to be able to hold on to her because Lucas is back once more and he does have that feeling already and if he does hes needs to call of this engagement and break up Sami now before they get married and move on with his life he will find someoneelse and he will end up being alright and will move on. What will Rafe think if he walks in on Sami wanting to tear Ari apart already over Lucas he will truly know that Sami truly isn't over Lucas and never will be and he needs to accept that Sami will never love him the way she loves Lucas and that Sami would rather be with Lucas. I love how this heating up already and the Lumi angst in this is fantastic and pretty soon hopefully one thing will lead to another and then boom they can't stop kissing one another. I love that Sami truly misses Lucas and that she has all of his things their with here to remind her of Lucas everyday. Sounds to me that Sami is not over Lucas and never will be and that she can't and won't live without Lucas in her life and she needs to face it I love that she kept her wedding band from Lucas on the day they got married that she had worn around her neck on a necklace chain and that she has the home to me momento in the box as well so many memories of Lucas and Sami kept them all now thats love. Could it be that Sami is hoping that Lucas will one day put this wedding band he gave her back on her finger one day in hopes that they do wind up remarrying my mind is racing just thinking about it. Sami honey tell Rafe the truth and get it out in the open that you still feel something for Lucas and that you would rather be with him and tell him the truth that you were using him at the time as a place setter and nothing more when you thought you wouldn't be able to be with Lucas at the time let Rafe know that he was and still is your rebound guy and that you will never feel for him what you feel for Lucas when you thought you couldn't be with Lucas at the time and when you thought that Lucas unavailable to you at the time which at the time he was but hes back now and hes free stop living in denial about it and face up to the fact that you want Lucas. Sami please tell Rafe the true already he needs to know what went on between you and Lucas and that you still have feelings for Lucas and that you want to be with him and that you miss him very much and that you can't live without Lucas in your life and don't want to live without Lucas ever again tell Rafe the truth he'll understand and will wind up moving on and will call off the wedding and will break up with you so you can be with Lucas just tell him already. I can't wait to see how Lucas messes with Rafe and how Sami will wind up messing with Ari in order to sabatoge her so they can be with one another. Lucas is still single at the moment and Sami needs to stop Ari and cut her off at the pass before she tries to put the moves on her man. It will be interesting to see what Sami and Lucas do next. I love this story and can't wait to read the next chapter of it. What an intersting turn events this has turned out to be so far in this Lucas/Sami/Rafe/Arianna saga. I love it already I love that Sami feelings for Lucas resurfaced in that kiss Sami make your move on Lucas and snatch him up again before Arianna gets the chance and reclaim your man and call off your engagement to Rafe and break up with him and go get Lucas and claim your man Sami the man you love and can't and won't live without ever again and intend on marrying once more and let Ari know who's the boss and that Lucas is your man and off limits to her and that Lucas is your and yours and yours alone. What a story and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Sami doing something like this on the show would be great and Lucas doing something like this and putting the moves on Sami and Sami putting the moves on him would be great as well I love Lumi angst where one thing leads to another and then boom it happens for Lucas and Sami where they do wind up getting back together again for they both know they will wind up with each other anyway and that other situations are usually rebound situations anyway and that they truly do know each other best. I would love to see something like this happen on the show as well for I think it would be great and to see Lucas put Sami's wedding band he gave her before back on her finger once they do wind up getting married once more. I do wish that the writers of the show would read some of our fanfictions here and get ideas on what they could do for Lucas and Sami as a couple or start of becoming a couple once more on the show where they do wind up getting back together again there are so many wonderful stories here that the writers could tell if they wanted to on the show everyone here has truly written some amazing stories and some truly powerful stuff and I would love to see the writers of the show take on this challenge as well and bring back to us the show we all know and love and to bring Lucas and Sami in all their glory back to us the way they use to be the Lucas and Sami from 2003,2004, 2006,2007,1995 Photo lab Lucas and Sami the true Lucas and Sami on the show the one's that can't live without one another and won't live without one another ever again and don't let anyone stand in their way of being with one another ever again and that they make good on this and do just that. I miss Lucas and Sami and reading these fanfictions on the sight truly reminds me of who Lucas and Sami are and were and still are and I miss seeing them on the show. Thanks for posting this and can't wait to read the next chapter of this story.
