Keeper of the Clips Posts: 13,785 Group: Managers Member #1 Joined: November 22, 2005 Lucas & Sami are inevitable.	Lucas clips are up. I would have clipped Sami, but I am philosophically opposed to giving JS any airtime in my clips if at all possible. I didn't get the impression that the writers were necessarily trying to rewrite history with the Chloe debacle, but rather giving themselves an excuse to not have Lucas run straight to Sami's side. Whatever the case, imo Chloe needs to be tarred and feathered and shipped out of town asap (and she can take Dr. Sleazy with her). As I posted in another thread, it's amazing how Lucas can show more depth of character in one episode than Sami's two buffoons can in a year.

Just saw it and I have to say I missed him so much. I'll tell you I did get the feeling that they might be making him somehow bring Sami her baby back....it's just the impression I got. Even Daniel tells him, "maybe you should do something about that" or, something like that....and the fact that he says he won't be able to live with himself if anything happens is really making me believe there is hope for him bringing her the baby back....I love how he was coming with a bag to Sami's ...hmmmm... The way this played out it really doesn't come off as a rewrite - Lucas is the one who claims he told Chloe, which is nothing out of the ordinary. He is always blaming himself for things he didn't do and Daniel's comments were just more of Daniel being the arrogant, self righteous creep that he always is. I think this was as close to character development as the current writing team is capable of mustering. While I don't think that Lucas was ever blaming others for things or not taking responsibility, some of his critics have made those comments about him, so I think these scenes are very positive in that the writers are trying to show Lucas as changed (which is the least the writers could do since he only came off that way because of the moronic Chloe/Daniel crap they wrote). To me, these scenes build off of the last ones Lucas had before he left for Rehab -- those scenes seemed designed to show the connection between he and Sami and that Lucas recognized his mistakes and was doing the right thing for his family by getting help. In his first scenes back, we see him being a father, looking out for Sami and recognizing his mistakes and changing them. That is more character growth in one episode than we've had for Sami in more than a year.

What I don't like about the writing regarding the revelation to Chloe is that they are making it seem that Lucas was holding a secret told to him by Sami and revealed that "in confidence" to Chloe when that was NEVER the case. If Chloe wouldn't have shown up at the clinic after eavesdropping on his conversation with the nurse then she would have never found out. Chloe found out by grabbing Sami's chart and remember when she saw that she assumed Lucas was the father and confronted Lucas back at the cabin with her suspicion....at that point what was he suppose to do....either lie and say it's his and lose Chloe with a lie, or tell her the truth which he did. That's what I don't appreciate the fact that they are painting Lucas as the one who totally broke Sami's trust and in this particular case he really didn't.....there are two reasons I see for TIIC doing this....one is that they are trying to finally repair the damage to his character that they did when they pimp Danloe....and/or they are making him feel super duper guilty and they want him to rescue the kid....

Does this mean he can forgive Sami for moving on like he asked her too with ykw while he was in jail, the whole reason they aren't together now hmm??? Man i'm going to be so let down if this doesn't happen lol I really need to chillax a lil.
