A lot of snow and wind are not a good mix. But for all my readers, the next TWO chapters! Chapter Four Today, Megan’s mind was churning with what the men had told her. She had almost laughed when they told her about Melisande’s masquerade & the fact that her son was almost saved from incest. “He didn’t rape Sami.” Armand turned at her words. “What?” “He didn’t rape Sami. He raped Melisande, his second cousin,” Megan said. “The men told you that?” Armand asked his wife. Megan turned her wheelchair from the window & faced her husband. “Yes, they did. Andre switched the girls back during his “Stan” plan. Sami found out she was pregnant & knew that Lucas would take her back, so he switched the girls & ordered his men to kill Sami.” “So is Sami dead?” Armand asked. “No, she’s alive. The men found Sergei Andrei & he told them that he & Andreas Andropolos got Sami out of there safely & Sergei took her to a convent in Europe. Sergei says if he remembers right, it was a convent in Switzerland. And we happen to know of one there,” Megan said with a smile. “Of course. Your old friend Sister Mary Julian’s home. Do you really think that Sami & her child are there?” Armand asked. “Only one way to find out for sure. Time to pay my old friend a visit & find out for sure. We’ll take Reyna with us since she is done with her schooling for now,” Megan said, referring to EJ’s younger sister Reyna Wells, her daughter with Armand. “And if Sami’s there, we can take her & her child back to Salem & get Edward back,” Armand said. “And hopefully give my father a heart attack in the process. I still cannot believe he thought our son was actually his child with Susan. He is ensconced at a boarding school near the convent. Wait until father finds out the truth & that EJ is not just a Dimera, but a Brady as well,” Megan said. “Yes, it is time that Bo gains his eldest son,” Armand said. “I’ll get us packed for a nice long trip, first to Switzerland & hopefully to Salem immediately after that.” Later that same afternoon, the one phone at the convent rang in the office of Mother Superior & she answered it in her usual way. “Guten Tag.” “Guten Tag, Mother Superior. This is Megan Wells. Is Sister Mary Julian available?" “Hello, Megan. It has been a long time since you called us. Yes, I believe Mary Julian is available, if she is not busy watching over the children of the young woman we are protecting,” Mother Superior said. “Would that young woman be named Sami Brady?” “Yes, indeed. That is her name.” “You said children. Did she have more than one?” “Yes, Megan, she had triplets. Plus her eldest son & young Elias Crumb are with her today.” “Ah, both boys must attend that boarding school down the road. Would you notify her & Mary Julian that Armand & I are on the way so we can take she & her children home safely?” “I believe there are other forces at work right now to where her homecoming will not be as soon as you expect. But you can discuss that with her when you arrive.” “Agreed. We will go with whatever plan is being set in motion. We will be there in a few days.” ------------- Salem The stark white envelope stared Stefano Dimera in the face later that afternoon. He knew what it contained. A cryptic note of unknown origin, but hinted to a mystery in each life. A secret that needed to be revealed. A truth to embrace. He wondered what his own note would say. He finally opened the envelope & began to read. You are evil incarnate You are the scourge on the face You have no humanity within you You have never loved You always lie Your biggest will be revealed You will finally pay for all their pain Every inch you inflicted for 20 years The feud is dead, as it should be And has been since before the truth The truth of Megan & her love Protection to her was important Even her eyes turn to you in hatred Never in love Get ready to say farewell Any language will do You will atone for your father’s sins And set a family free from your vengeance Stefano’s eyes widened as he finished the note. This person was daring & was challenging his right to finish the feud his way. He had no idea what he was up against. ---------- Melisande cackled at Stefano’s reaction to the note. “Oh, man, he has no idea what he is up against & that his revenge against the Brady’s is over!” “Exactly. And Chloe is no different. She will get the shock of her life on her wedding day & she will not only lose Lucas, but she will finally pay for what she did to Brady,” Rafe said before changing the subject. “We got a letter from Will. He found his mom. She’s living with his triplet siblings in a convent about 20 miles away from his boarding school. He says his mother, brother, & sisters are fine & want in on whatever you are planning. He says his little sisters are little flirts though,” Rafe said. “That’s normal at their age. It just means they’ll have plenty of practice by the time they are teenagers,” Melisande said. “And now we know where they are & that they are safe & sound.” “Yes, they are safe & sound & eager to get involved in your plan so she can reclaim her life & so you can reclaim your own,” Rafe said. “And would that life I’m reclaiming include you?” Melisande asked slyly. “You don’t even have to ask. I love you, Sande. I’ll love you always & forever.” “And you’ll be the best stepdad my wonderful children could ever ask for,” Melisande said. -------------- Lucas Horton walked into his Aunt Maggie’s home later that day. She had asked him to come over & talk to her about something she(& Julie) had seen Chloe do. Lucas sighed. He knew what his aunt was trying to do, but he wasn’t going to fall for it. He knew his aunt & his cousin Julie were trying to get him away from Chloe & back with Sami, but since she was pregnant with EJ’s child & in protective custody, it wasn’t going to happen. But he knew his aunt, uncle, & cousin were stubborn & were not about to give up. “Maggie, what is it this time?” he asked. “Well, for one, we saw Chloe with the good doctor again, kissing. She admitted that they are having an affair, but that she still wants to marry you, which doesn’t bode well for your future happiness. In fact, the good doctor wanter her not to marry you. He wants her to give him a chance,” Maggie explained. “Maggie…” “And two, I don’t know why he wrote to me. Maybe Eric thought that I could get through to you better.” “Eric wrote you?” “Yes, & he is not very happy with you right now.” ------------- Eric Brady rode through the Swiss countryside on the way to his nephew’s boarding school. He had to speak with Will about his father’s mistake. He thought it was strange that his bond with his twin sister was strong right now. He felt such a pull as he passed by a convent. He wondered why he did, then decided to stop. He pulled up outside the convent, notic-ing the car parked outside with the sticker of the headmaster of Will’s school. He remembered Will telling him that they could check it out for trips into Berne or to the nearby church. A young nun had come outside at that moment. She had noticed his car pulling up. “Good day, sir. My name is Sister Meredith Mary. What brings you here today?” “I’m not totally sure, sister. I felt I’d better pull in though. My name is Eric Brady.” “Young Miss Samantha’s twin brother, of course. No wonder you felt you had to pull in. I will take you to her,” Sister Meredith said. Eric nodded in astonishment. No wonder, indeed. His twin was here! “Is my sister alright? How long has she been here?” “Young Samantha has been here since mid-April of 2005. We were told to protect her & her very precious cargo. She gave birth to her three blessed miracles in mid-July. All three were healthy despite being premature, but the doctor said it was normal for triplets,” Sister Meredith informed him as she led him through the convent. Eric’s shock grew before they entered the courtyard of the convent to find Sami watching all four of her children roll around in the snow. Eric’s eyes widened at the sight of his eldest nephew literally getting taken down by his younger siblings. Then he noticed the young man beside his sister. “Who is that?” Eric asked. “Young Elias Crumb, a friend of young William’s from their boarding school.” Eric recognized the name. But to him what was more important was that his twin sister was alive, well, & ready to get her own vengeance. “Sami!” he called out. Sami turned & looked in shock before she ran into her twin’s arms. “Eric!” ---------------- Chapter Five Eric embraced his sister tightly, tears slipping down his face. He could feel the front of his shirt becoming wet with tears. Through his tears, Eric managed to say, “You have a lot of explaining to do.” Sami laughed. “I know. I am just surprised that you didn’t figure it out a lot sooner.” Eric laughed. “The imposter did a good job.” “Melisande had to. If it wsn’t for her & Andreas Andropolos, I wouldn’t be alive right now,” Sami said as they parted. “Andre told his men to kill me.” Eric gasped at that. “Melisande begged the men to spare me since I was pregnant, nearly five months along, but most said they had to follow Andre’s orders, at least until she begged Andreas & he immediately had one of his men spirit me away from there & brought me here.” “And you lived here in safety, even after Andre’s crap stopped. Why didn’t you come home?” Eric asked. “I couldn’t come home until it was safe for me & the kids & I knew that Melisande would have no problem in playing the role for a while. Plus, up until recently, she didn’t know if I was alive or dead. It was the only way to keep my children safe,” Sami said. “Plus, you had other lives that would be affected by your return,” Eric said. “And questions that would be asked.” “Questions that do not have easy answers. Melisande got justice for me & help to keep me away from many of the things that Stan did. I am thankful to her for everything she did,” Sami said. “Hi, uncle Eric! What are you doing here?” Will’s voice came at that moment. His siblings followed in triplicate greetings. “Hi, uncle Eric!” “Hello, everyone!” “Kids, why don’t you introduce yourselves to your uncle. Full names if you can,” Sami told them “Hi, uncle Eric. I am Isabella Margaret Roberts.” “I am Allison Caroline Roberts.” “I am Thomas John. Mommy says TJ for me,” he said. Eric smiled at his nephew & nieces. “Hellow. Named for a person important on each side of the family.” Allie nodded. “Yep. Mommy says I’m great-grandma’s namesake times two!” “Yes, sweetie. You are named for both of your great-grandmothers, Alice Horton & Caroline Brady. Izzy, you are named after our late stepmother Isabella Toscano-Black & also after your father’s aunt Maggie. And TJ, you are named for your great-grandfather Tom Horton & our stepfather John Black,” Eric said. “Unlike the child that Melisande gave birth to. I would never included daddy’s name because he really isn’t worth it, plus, you already have daddy’s name as your middle name,” Sami said. “And yours comes from that old friend of mom’s, Eugene Bradford,” Eric said. “Well, now that uncle Eric is here, we can get him involved in Melisande’s plan as well,” Will said. “Melisande’s plan to get your life back, right?” Eric asked. “Her plan to get everyone, other than Chloe & Stefano, their happiness & true justice & truth. There is a lot more that you don’t know,” Sami told her twin. “Why don’t you kids go back to playing while Eric & I discuss things.” Will nodded & pulled Elias along with them back to the snow while Eric & Sami headed toward a stone bench not far away. Eric opened his mouth, but Sami spoke first. “We have another cousin. EJ is not Stefano’s son, he is uncle Bo’s son by Stefano’s daughter Megan Hathaway.” “Oh my god! There’s another thing that she saved you from, being raped incestuously by our own cousin.” “But for her, its almost the same thing, but its not as bad because they are second cousins. But its still horrible to think about.” “And Stefano has no clue to his true identity, does he?” “He may have a clue by now, thanks to the notes Melisande sent. They are cryptic, but I’m sure she is alluding to the truth somewhat,” Sami said. “And it throws them all off their game as well. They are all probably wondering what they mean until the truth is revealed.” ------------ One week later Another Saturday visit from Will included a new letter from Melisande, including news from Salem that Sami liked, plus now, Eric was on his own way back home. Boy, did he have plans to get EJ his punishment for believing Stefano. Sami couldn’t wait to get involved herself. It was a rare nice day that lead Sami, Will, & the triple threat(as Will had started to call his siblings) planning to trek into Berne for new clothes for the children. Will & Sami both knew that they had to be careful with easing the triplets into the world outside the convent, so both felt a trip into the city to check out the European fads was in order. Sami was just about to get into the headmaster’s car(which Will had borrowed again) when a black Lincoln town car pulled up. Sami frowned & narrowed her eyes. A distinguished looking gentleman came out once the driver opened the door. A few minutes later another passenger, an older blonde woman came out & seated herself in a silver wheelchair. The woman looked around before stopping on Sami. “Well, well, well, hello Samantha. It is so good to see you safe & sound.” “Who are you?” Sami asked. “I am Megan Hathaway-Wells.” “EJ’s mother! You’re alive!” Sami exclaimed. “Yes, I am alive. I am surprised you know that EJ is my son,” Megan said. “Melisande told Will in a letter she got to him, & he showed it to me last week, as well as a few more letters she has sent since then,” Sami said. “So that is what Mother Superior meant last week when I spoke to her. Melisande has a plan to get you your life back,” Megan said. “And for the truth to come out about EJ & his true family. Plus it’s a plan to punish your father for stealing EJ from you & for what he has done to my family these past few years,” Sami said. “Understood. My son needs to claim his true heritage & claim his true family. Its just too bad that the love of his life lost her baby,” Megan said. “Of course, we already have one grandchild,” Armand said. “Actually, you have two with one more on the way. Andre actually had to make it believable that she had given birth to EJ & Lucas’s children, but she found out the truth. And she is also pregnant with EJ’s third child,” Sami said. "Oh my lord! That is still a problem. Even in our family, second cousin relationships are considered incest. It’s practically a rule in Italy these days,” Megan said. “In the past, it would’ve been alright. They did it to keep the royal bloodlines clean,” Armand said. “Not just that, but EJ did rape Melisande. He really shouldn’t have any rights to either Alice or Johnny. Only Melisande should,” Sami said. Will finally spoke. “He’s a good father from what I’ve heard though.” Megan turned at the younger voice. “Young William! What in the world are you still doing here? I expected you to be back in Salem by now,” she said. “Dad & Melisande sent me here to live with aunt Carrie & Uncle Austin in Geneva & they sent me to the boarding school nearby. I can’t leave until the end of the term,” Will said. “And he found out I was here a few weeks ago,” Sami said. “And uncle Eric found her last week & left for Salem to get involved & to punish EJ for hurting our family. I still can’t believe what lengths he was willing to go to just to get you. I guess that’s what Stefano wanted him to do,” Will said. “My son does need to be punished before he can embrace his Brady side. And he must fully deny the evil of the Dimera family,” Megan said. “Of course, we were planning on taking you home, Samantha, but if Melisande has this plan, then we cannot do so. I wonder if she would agree to us taking you to our home in Bordeaux France until the plan comes to fruition.” “I’m sure she would. She even agreed to foot the bill on clothes for my trio. We were about to drive into Berne to do that,” Sami said. “Of course. My daughter can help you with that,” Megan said. “Your daughter? EJ has a sister?” Sami asked. “Of course Edward does,” came the voice of a young woman. She stepped out of the town car a moment later. “Half-sister of course.” “Of course, otherwise you would be EJ’s twin. And that would’ve been fun for you,” Sami said. “My brother is a good big brother though. At least he was when I was younger before grandfather took him,” Reyna said. “Reyna, you go into town with Samantha & the children to assist with the shopping. Your father & I will visit with my friend, Sister Mary Julian until you get back & we will try to contact Melisande as well,” Megan said. “Of course. Shopping with triplets, especially when two of them are girls, can be hard,” Reyna said, walking over to the headmaster’s car & getting in the driver’s seat.
