Just after the truth about Grace's (supposed) father comes out, Eric comes upon Will and tells him the truth about the woman they all believe is Sami. A search begins to find out the truth about what happened to Sami and where she is. PG-13 to be safe Able to be archived by Second chances Do not own the rights to the characters of Days of our lives or General hospital, those belong to NBC and ABC. The Search She was a liar, the biggest one of all, he thought. How could she lie again? Why did she lie? To protect Grace, yeah, right. Grace was dead. What good did it do to lie. Will Horton sat on a bench near the dock & contemplated what he wanted to do next when a hand fell on his shoulder. He turned to see someone he never expected. “Uncle Eric, what are you doing here?” Eric Brady stared at his nephew for a moment before answering. “Setting a few things straight. Getting justice for Sami, since she will never live to get it.” Will frowned. “What do you mean?” “The young woman everyone thinks is Sami isn’t. I checked. Andre had her take your mom’s place a long time ago. According to Andre’s files, after that, he killed Sami. I believe that to be true. I haven’t felt my bond with Sami in nearly four years,” Eric told him. “So there is no chance that mom is out there somewhere? Mom is really gone?” Will asked, holding back tears. “Not as far as I can see or feel. If she was alive, I would be able to feel her,” Eric told his nephew. “And that other woman, that imposter thought she could just take over mom’s life?” Will asked. “I think she felt that she had to. She knew you r mom deserved to live & that she could live for her,” Eric said. “Do you know who she really is?” Will asked. “Yes. She is Andre’s niece Alexandra. His old files show that he had conditioned her to always obey him, to never go against him,” Eric said. A gasp came from behind them & they turned to see Mia. “Mia, what’s wrong?” Will asked. Mia didn’t answer him. Tears filled her eyes as she looked at the man before her. She couldn’t believe that he was actually here. “Daddy?” Eric smiled. He hoped that one day he would see her, get the chance her mother had denied him for so long. “Mia, sweetheart, come here.” “Daddy!” Mia exclaimed as she launched into Eric’s open arms. Eric embraced his long lost daughter tightly. Finally, he was holding his beautiful daughter in his arms, the daughter that his ex-girlfriend had denied was his. She had done everything she could to deny it until her parents interceded with not only the birth certifi-cate with his name on it, but also the paternity test they had ordered when Mia was born. Still, he was denied his daughter. When his ex had died from a drug overdose, she had made sure that Mia was shipped off to live with some distant relatives. Her parents had become angry with her since they knew that Eric had the right to have his daughter with him. Mia & Eric parted & Mia smiled. Eric kissed her on the forehead before the two of them turned back to Will. Will was shocked. He had no idea that Mia was actually his cousin. He had no idea that his uncle had a child. “Will, are you ok?” Mia asked. “Just a little shocked. I can’t believe that you’re my cousin!” “My dad is the brother she is always talking about? Her twin?” “Yep.” “Oh my god! No wonder I felt a bond with Grace! She was my cousin!” “No she wasn’t. Mia, sweetie, the woman you believe is your aunt is not your aunt. She is an imposter,” Eric told his daughter. “An imposter? Then where is aunt Sami? What happened?” “Andre switched them, then according to what uncle Eric found, he ordered my mom to be killed. Uncle Eric believes that she is probably dead,” Will explained. Mia nodded then looked around. “Let’s go somewhere else & discuss this. There are too many ears around here,” she said. “Including mine. I heard it all,” came Nicole’s voice from behind them. “Then we swear you to secrecy, Nicole. You can come with us. Where’s Sydney?” Will asked. “Back at the mansion with EJ. You know that will make him feel horrible,” Nicole said. “It’s not our job to make him feel good. Now let’s go!” Mia exclaimed. -------------------------------- Moments later, the foursome was gathered around a table at the Brady pub. “God, could there still be a chance that Sam is alive? What if someone saved her? What if somebody stopped short of killing her?” Nicole asked. “I’m getting Nicole’s train of thought. There may be a reason that you’re not feeling her, dad. What if she has amnesia?” Mia asked. “It’s a possibility. Total amnesia would probably separate our bond, since she wouldn’t remember that she is my twin. But how would that happen?” Eric asked. “Andre could’ve ordered his men to beat her to death, but one could’ve stepped in, just before she would’ve died & gotten her out of there, but by that time, enough damage would’ve been done to where she would wake up & not know who she was,” Nicole ex-plained. “The man in question would be wise enough to give her a new identity to safeguard not only her, but him. She may be living that new life, but she should feel like she’s missing something,” Mia said. “But why would he do this in the first place? Why would he switch them?” Will asked. “Didn’t Andre’s files say why?” Nicole asked. “The ones we found at Andre’s compound said something, but he attempted to destroy them by burning them & the reason was burned off,” Eric said. “Stefano should have a copy of the files. We should be able to find out that way,” Mia said. “The only ones who have access to those files are Stefano & EJ, meaning we have to bring one of them in on it,” Nicole said. “Ok, I guess if we have to. Call EJ & get him down here so we can fill him in,” Eric said. Nicole nodded before pulling out her cell phone & calling EJ. ----------------------- EJ’s arrival & the explanation of the truth brought down the young Dimera heir. His anger at his cousin soon came to the surface. “How dare Andre do this! How dare he do this to Sami & Alexandra!” he exclaimed vehemently. Luckily no one heard him since they had moved upstairs into the Brady apartment. “I know. But we need to know why he did it & if there could be a chance that Sami’s alive,” Nicole said. “Of course. I think Father kept a lot of Andre’s old files. Copies at least. Those should be able to tell us why the switch took place & where Sami could be, if he got wind of it,” EJ said. “Or at least a list of employees who can tell us what happened. They’d be the ones to tell us if Aunt Sami is alive,” Mia said. “I’ll see what I can find out. We have to be careful, though. We don’t want Alexandra to figure out that we know the truth yet,” EJ said. “That won’t be too hard. I already broke the tie with her. I got mad about what she told me about Grace,” Will said. “And she can’t even fake a bond with me, so I can lay low,” Eric said. “Then there’s the big problem, though. Her current boyfriend, Rafe,” Nicole said. “We can handle him. Just be careful,” EJ said. The group watched as they came down the stairs & left the pub, keeping an eye on Rafe as they left, heading off to find the truth. ---------------------- Later that day, EJ & Nicole gained access to the room at the local Dimera Inc. where all Andre’s old files were kept. Both were shocked by the amount of file cabinets & boxes filled with information. “Some of these boxes must contain videos. I’m sure Andre kept track of his employees & prisoners closely,” Nicole said. “I’m sure he did. He didn’t want anyone betraying them, him, or his other men & their families,” EJ said. “Let’s get started. I don’t know why you brought the laptop.” “There may be information among all this on disk or other media we need to place in a computer. I’m just being prepared,” Nicole said. EJ opened the first box to find videotapes, DVD’s, floppy disks, & a batch of flash drives. “Jackpot!” “No kidding. I’ll check the disks & flash drives, you check the videos,” Nicole said. ---------------------- Hours later, EJ had such a headache from watching videos. Still no connection to prove that Sami would be alive. So far just videos of the early days of the Melaswen plot, videos of what had been done on the island. “I wish he would have labeled these suckers,” EJ grumbled. “Well, at least he kind of color coded the floppy disks. So far I’ve figured out that red are his schemes, yellow is the accounting, & blue is the locations & descriptions of his different compounds throughout the world. I’m wondering about the green & orange,” Nicole said. “One has got to have the dossiers on his employees & their current whereabouts. And maybe a list of his victims,” EJ said. “Maybe,” Nicole said as she put in another disk, a green one this time, while EJ switched to the DVD’s & chose a random one. “Green, victims of his plots. I see Sami’s name. I’ll see what he says about her,” Nicole said. EJ nodded as he began the chosen topic on the DVD & found himself watching the video of Sami’s beating. “How cruel!” “Look at the way she is trying to protect her stomach, bringing her knees up to shield it as well as her hands! I think that gives us a clue!” Then they watched as the men beating Sami started falling from gunshots, then the camera went out for video, seemingly shot out. “Someone did save her.” “Yeah, but she was already badly beaten. It did look like some got her in the head. Enough for a tramatic head injury that in-cluded full amnesia,” Nicole said. She then turned back to the computer which was now showing the reason that Sami had been switched with Alexandra. “As the clue in the video showed, Sami was pregnant!” “A pregnancy at that time…” “Would’ve made Sami believe that she no longer needed revenge, that she could get Lucas back, since this file gives not only the date of the test, but how far along she was. Lucas would’ve known that the baby was his!” “I see. But Andre didn’t care. He didn’t realize that he had lost control of her. And when she proved that, he switched them,” EJ said. “I’ll keep this disk, along with the orange ones, since they probably are about his employees & we will need information on them. We need to take that DVD & show Eric. I don’t think it’s a wise idea to show it to Mia or Will,” Nicole said. “They may want to see it, but only if they can handle it. Will will insist upon seeing it,” EJ said.

It must be odd for Mia and Will to realize they're cousins... though with the way Max serially dates his nieces they might see it as typical.
