EJ dumps Sydney’s clothes in the harbor to convince Sami and Rafe that she is dead.

EJ tries to get Sami to believe that Sydney is probably dead and that Rafe is to blame. He steps up his plan by throwing Sydney’s bloody clothes in the river. After they are found, Rafe tells Sami the news. He tells Sami and EJ at the same time. Galen says, “He doesn’t necessarily think it means Sydney is gone. Certainly, it doesn’t look good, but Rafe is like, ‘Let’s not give up hope. We’re going to continue to look for her. The case is by no means closed.’ He’s still fighting a good fight.”

EJ helps Sami cling to hope while they wait for the DNA results. The results confirm that it is Sydney’s blood on the clothes. Sami is devastated and it is a shock to Rafe. Galen says, “He’s been preaching that they were going to get Sydney back for so long that it’s hard for him to admit she’s potentially gone. It’s just too horrible. And it means disastrous consequences for Sami and Rafe as well.”

Rafe doesn’t want to give up hope. Heading the investigation and being the boyfriend of the mother that lost the child puts a lot of pressure on him. Galen says, “He’s pinned between two extremes. All of this is causing a rift between Rafe and Sami. They’re drifting apart, because Sami’s not getting what she needs right now, which is emotional support from Rafe.”

Rafe doesn’t suspect that EJ is behind it. “What would be the point of kidnapping Sydney right after getting her back? It doesn’t really make sense,” says GG. That is the case though and Galen says, “To a certain degree, he feels guilty. He wanted to be the guy to save the day, to get Sami out of this horrific situation. Now, it doesn’t look good. I don’t know that Rafe has felt worse in a long time.” When asked what he thinks about EJ orchestrating everything Galen says, “It’s a great chess game, and Sydney is the pawn.” When Galen first heard about the twist he wondered how it was even plausible and why EJ would do it. Galen says, “It’s been a lot of fun to play and a testament to James. He’s brought a lot to his character, made him such an a-hole and so miserable. At the same time, EJ is still likable and clearly loves his child. I’m interested to see what’s going to happen.”

Please link to DR

EJ sets it up to look like Sydney was killed by the kidnappers.

EJ tells Anna that he wants to make Sami suffer until she has nothing left. He takes Sydney's clothes and dumps them in the harbor. The clothes are fished out and given to the authorities. When Rafe delievers the news, EJ is with Sami. Sami is devastated. James says, "He gets a tremendous amount of pleasure from seeing someone else's pain. I think that is only because he himself was caused so much pain by her. What he is doing to Sami is nasty, what she did to him is nasty. There is not a winner in this. Everybody loses, really."

This news pulls Sami closer to EJ and away from Rafe. Rafe has been getting more involved in Sami's life and becoming a father to EJ's children. James says, "EJ does not like that."

So again we only hear from Rafe...wasn't this suppose to be a Rapemi story?

Hello Galen...."EJ clearly loves his child"...yeah right!

Your soulmate understands and connects with you in every way and on every level, which brings a sense of peace, calmness and happiness when you are around them. And when you are not around them, you are all that much more aware of the harshness of life, and how bonding with another person in this way is the most significant and satisfying thing you will experience in your lifetime.

Yup that's just YKW and his portrayer. Yay another Rafe interview. And if the writers really think viewers find this romantic boy are they dense.

So GG claims EJ is still likable? Yeah, not in my book. (Of course, neither is Rafe, except in theory.)

And JS admits EJ is getting pleasure out of causing pain - but then claims it's only because Sami hurt him so much. Riiiight. It's not like he's been doing everything in his power to hurt her, and others, since long before Sydney and Grace were born. No, no, EJ is the victim and is just striking back!

Thanks for explaining that-- I was confused!
Do you remember what she told him? She took her lover’s hand, and she said, “just because something is intangible doesn't mean that it's not real.” Lucas, no matter what happens, no matter what we’ve been through, no matter what I say, you will always be in my heart. -- Sami Brady, November 2007

Rapist just loves her so much! Trying to make the person you love as miserable as possible and always wanting them to pay for past mistakes is the sign of true love. "EJ is still likeable" and "EJ is the victim" :v . Thank you for clearing that up  . Doesn't water wash away any DNA, blood and trace evidence making it impossible to match to Sydney? Not that Days has been putting out believeable storylines lately anyway. Maybe this is their way of making it come out that Sydney is not a Rapemi baby.

This show has sunk to a new low I never previously thought possible. I know there are "rumors" that Sami will forgive Rapist for making her think Sydney is dead and get close to him, but I can't imagine GT would go in that direction. To have his golden boy get duped by Rapist and then lose said girl to the lowest life form in this universe would go against his "plan". But, it would be the perfect way to make sure Days gets cancelled for good. After Rapist's latest stunt, I can't imagine he has any fans left.

I can say one thing though, IF TPTB are going to keep the character of Elvis around (and I know that most would like to see him gone), I have to admit that making him this way is the best option....he is evil, he is suppose to take over for his father when his father finally passes and let's face it Stefano isn't getting any younger....I have a funny feeling that Stefano's payback will be to tell Nicole everything Elvis is doing and in doing so will tell Nicole that Sydney is really her baby...she will then find Sydney take her for DNA testing and Stefano will get the last laugh....then Sami can sue for full custody of Johnny and it's done....Stefano will somehow bring back Sydney in this...I just have a hunch...

of course he does. Remember, rapist can do no wrong. No matter what some will choose to like him. Fine that's their call but why does GT enjoying shoving this guy down folks throats? Makes me wanna vomit. I'm glad I stopped caring when Bryan wasn't going to be on anymore.

Everybody's been losings since JS's sorry rear landed on the show. Sami cause him pain? Um, who started it? Let's see: Blackmail, torture, rape, family members harmed.... James really has a handle on his character, doesn't he?

Guess what, James? YOU are the biggest loser!

I'd really like to know what all these horrible things are that Sami has done to EJ. I get keeping his daughter from him, though completely justified, is bad but no where near as bad as making Sami think her daughter is dead. Atleast Sami told the truth when it counted and only kept Grace a secret because EJ and his family are like posion.

I thought justifying your bad behavior by claiming someone else did something bad to you was something only children did. To me EJ's crimes will always be worse than anyone else and his behavior will never be justified.
