I'm curious to see what other writers find hardest and easiest. Which element of writing comes most easily for you? You can pick up to three options from the list.

Easiest for me is coming up with a plot. I have tons of ideas scribbled down in notebooks, just waiting for me to actually write them.
I usually find dialogue fairly easy, especially if humour is involved.
And of course, related to coming up with plots, starting fics is fairly easy for me. It's the sitting down and finishing them part that gets me.

Dialogue is easy for me, as well as internal monologue. In general, I'm better with words than visuals. Complex characters are fairly easy, too - perhaps because I've cut my teeth on writing Lumi, who are nothing if not complex, or perhaps because nobody I know fits any stereotypes.

With Days fic, the plot is usually very easy because the show has so many missed opportunities. I also tend to finish what I started because I'm too obsessive to let something sit partially written for long periods of time.

Edited... too, not to. I really do know the difference. You read what I wrote about not bothering to edit in the other thread, right? ;)

Do you remember what she told him? She took her lover’s hand, and she said, “just because something is intangible doesn't mean that it's not real.” Lucas, no matter what happens, no matter what we’ve been through, no matter what I say, you will always be in my heart. -- Sami Brady, November 2007

For me starting is the easiest and obviously with Lumi the plot isn't hard to come up with....it's finishing the story and the descriptive writing that is hard for me.

There’s someone I’ve been missing
I think that they could be
The better half of me
They’re in the wrong place trying to make it right
But I’m tired of justifying
So I say ...
Come home
Cause I’ve been waiting for you
