It's been 2 weeks now. Anybody miss it?

I sure don't. I haven't felt the urge to read any of the previews/recaps. When I got my most recent weekly survey from NBC, I was honest and clicked "none" when it asked me how many times I watched in the previous week.

Of course that hasn't stopped me from entertaining myself with the online shenanigans that are still going on. I will confess to stopping by a couple of other sites where members of 3 (that I count) separate fanbases are waging war with each other over a bunch of fabricated "spoilers" that were posted on a site a few weeks ago. 2 of the fanbases seem to get that it's all a hoax, but one (and I bet you can guess which one) has many members buying it hook, line & sinker. Apparently the gullible ones absolutely hate being made fun of when they fall for things like this, so they're trying really hard not to discuss them openly. ^o) Meanwhile, everyone else, and I mean everyone is pointing and laughing. (6) Karma, ah it warms my heart. (h)

Honestly, I hadn't watched for weeks prior to the announcment about Bryan's contract because I found Sami's destruction just too heartbreaking to watch anymore. I was hoping that once Ari Z returned from maternity leave that finally the sacrificing of Sami could stop and she could get her own storyline again and a reunion with Lucas. Once the news about Bryan came out there was no reason to hope for Sami's renewal anymore either and certainly no other reason left to watch the show. I thought I would come back to it to watch Bryan's last episodes but as it turns out all I could do was tape the episodes and later erase them without watching. Due to the gracious gift from Norma & Frannie, I was able to just watch the clips of Lucas' scenes. I had no desire to watch anything else on the show and still don't. Giving up discussion of the show at various sites took longer to end than the show but as more and more time passed without watching that became easier and easier to end as well and I haven't missed discussing the show either. The only thing I still have an interest in hearing/reading about in regards to the show is if things work out for Nicole & Sydney, but I have no interest in suffering through Days to watch it happen - thanks to the internet, I have that option.

This sounds like me. Execpt I shut off my DVR the days news of BD's firing came out. I tried to watch X-mas and was disappointed. I watched Lucas last epis and haven't looked back. I stopped talking about the show a month after I stopped watching. But I have popped over to other sites to check out what's being talked about. Really feel like I haven't missed much.
I know of the fake spoilers your talking about. Really I can't believe they think its true.

has it already been 2 weeks. Wow, That not watching didn't seem like much of a sacrafice at all. The only time I miss it is when I reflect on the good old days ....way back to the 80's. THe show was better and remembering it reminds me of my life back then. That's what I miss but not the show of recent years. It really does feel like it's been cancelled.

I have not watched the show since they carted Lucas off to jail. I don't think I missed much. And I do not miss it at all.

Don't miss the current show at all.

I was so hoping for a Lucas and Lumi return and when Bryan's contract was not renewed I gave up. After 25 years I'm done because Days doesn't know how to write a happy ending and reward the good guy.

Now I just watch old Days videos on youtube and post on websites spewing lumi and Bryan love. Funny how I am getting some replies from people coming out of the woodwork about how they miss lumi. Though I know lumi will never return, it is always entertaining to see what kind of comments you get.

I do miss our couple of yesteryear. They were so damn entertaining!!!!

I don't miss it, but the only thing I really want to see how it ends up is the neverending switch/kidnapping craziness that unfortunately "began" almost two years ago. I am not watching...I've fully transitioned to GH and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I do hang out on the boards still and post and find it a great relief that I don't have a horse in the race anymore. It is more enjoyable to post now frankly because I can call it as I see it now without having to always defend my love for Lucas while bashing Elvis. I've had some rapemi fans actually tell me that they didn't notice how much they missed Lucas until now, and they would have him back in a heartbeat if it meant getting rid of Rafe. Oh well....I would have Lucas back in a heartbeat two but I wouldn't get rid of Rafe to do it...there is another character who deserves the boot more than dozer and we all know who that is.

I know about those spoilers and it's really funny how no one figured it out that the ONLY reason why that site came out with the lis of lies is because they needed membership on that site. The site was dying a slow death and all of a sudden they come out with the list of "everything I've ever wanted to happen will happen by Xmas"....and low and behold their membership grows...silly rabbits tricks are for kids.....lol...Anyone who is silly enough to believe that GT will get rid of the entire Hernandez crew + Nicole will be gone too in no time and that rapemi will marry by xmas is delusional.....or in delusionville....

I always see that about Lucas too. I just want to go on and write "well you wanted him off the show and bow your stuck with Rafe. I think they need to accept Rapemi aint happening, not without trickery and lies. They always made up rumors about BD leaving and they got their wish. Doesn't mean its gonna get them their couple.
Funny on NBC last night I saw someone post a rumor about JS getting fired. Let's see how they like that.

Uhm, B&B is usually in 2nd, not Days. I saw the ratings for last week yesterday, and I'm pretty sure Days is still in 3rd and GH in 4th. Maybe it was a specific demographic that you were looking at?

Yeah, Days has been losing ground in the demos for awhile now, which is why there's still a very good chance that they'll be off the air soon. :D

I got that NBC survey too and when I read the usual subject line "Did you watch DOOL this Week?" I was tempted to actually write back "not in my most desperate hour of boredom would I watch that train wreck". Not only that, but when I was over at my dad's apartment my brother and I decided to go over to the free gym (well, it's technically included in their rent) in the second tower before making use of the pool and hot tub. On the two different plasma TVs in the gym, they had two different soaps. One was ATWT, the other Days. It was nice to see Luke and Noah again. The sound was off and my eyes aren't what they used to be for reading tiny captions on screens, but it was still more entertaining than what was on the other TV. :P

Some demos count more than others. As far as NBC goes, it's the 18-49 year old women who matter most.

Yep that is where it counts....I think Days will be renewed for another two years but then after that I don't think they stand a chance....and the ONLY reason they would renew them is because the improved in viewership and cut costs in doing it, however I don't think they stand a chance in heck to actually make it past 2012. It's better that Bryan let that train wreck go now.

Loving the idea of bringing back Lucas after they get rid of what's his name although I agree they could have just extended Bry's contract. It would have made for a much better story. I think the writing kinda indicated an exit for JSin the near future just like they did for Bryan.

I think there are a lot of Lumi fans in the coveted "women 18-49" demographic that are no longer watching Days and it seems that at least some of those have transitioned to GH, but GH was already doing better in that demo than Days and for good reason. I agree with Luvinglumi about the cheapness of Days showing through. The sets are cheap looking and the writing and too much of the acting is just juvenile. In every way, GH is a polished, professional production and Days is very amateurish by comparison. Maybe Days can still appeal to advertisers of other inferior products - viewers willing to keep buying the joke that Days has become, may not mind cheap, shabby craftsmanship in other products either.
