I'm really happy that she won, not because of the particular performance she won for (although it was good) but because she's been so consistently enjoyable over the years. It's just that she's rarely in films the Academy deems "serious" enough to reward-- she usually does things that are, you know, fun to watch. (Fun to watch is ok if the movie is in 3D or blows lots of stuff up... not if the movie is a clever romantic comedy... apparently.)

I know this is a complete double standard since I HATE it when Daytime Emmys turn into lifetime achievement awards instead of what that actor did that year with that role, but... yay Sandra!

I was so happy when she won. She made me cry when in her dedication speech she thanked all those moms who take care of children no matter what. It spoke to my heart and validated every obstacle I encounter every day when working with my kids. Yes, Sandra Bullock is a special person because she thinks of others beyond herself and acknowledges how important they are to the world.
