Christie Clark (Carrie Brady-Reed) posted on her most recent official blog that Austin Peck (Austin Reed) has had some talks with Days since leaving his role of Brad Snyder on ATWT in December. With Anna DiMera so prevalent in the storyline and with all the Sami turmoil, it would make sense for Carrie and Austin Reed to return. It's time for the sisters to FINALLY be sisters, Anna and Carrie to bond, and for Austin to be there for Will. |

Sami is now the brainless, simpering damsel in distress Austin always kind of saw her as/wanted her to be... maybe they'll end up together! I can't fathom why a Carrie/Austin fan would want their characters back on the show. All the signature couples have been sent off and/or destroyed. Bope was the last holdout, naturally, and now Peter Reckell is on the firing track. |

Something occurs to me as I read this again this morning, nowhere in there does it say that CC has been approached. I do know that AP took the initiative to approach Days after he was let go by ATWT and they initially said "thanks, but no thanks." Now the question is, since they got rid of Bry, have their changed their minds? Who's to say that AP would even be under consideration for the role of Austin Reed. Given the psychotic minds currently in charge at Days, it wouldn't surprise me if they decide that AP can now just be a Lucas recast.  And like Hilary says, who'd even want their couple back on this crappy show? If Lucas & Sami had been written out with a happily ever after, I would have gleefully watched them leave and then never given the show a second thought again. |

I'm in the minority but I liked Carrie and Austin. But to bring them back after letting BD go is weird. What's Carrie Austin and Sami without Lucas? |

I think the whole issue would be how the story was written. If it's written well, I could learn to like it. After all, Austin is a part of Days history, not some newbie taking up screen-time. Also, did Austin get any better any acting? I heard he got better at ATWT so if he got better that's a bonus. |

AP is a better actor now than he was a few years ago, in fact, I'd say he's far too good to be on Days. I honestly have my doubts that he's headed back to Salem. I know that he talked to Days after ATWT let him go, but I also know that they turned him down. Since AP was never on Passions, it's highly unlikely that GT would even consider him for the show. |

Why would they ever want to bring Austin back? It's the repetitive cycle yet again what story is there to tell with him?....I really think the story was there for Lucas....but since they got rid of Lucas if ANY of her exes would be back it would likely be Brandon, just because he could play into Nicole's story a bit, but Austin? Nahhhh? I think they'll bring more from Passions before bringing anyone else back from Days' past..... |

can say something i hope they don't recast lucas i am sorry but i think the character should of died when bryan left. as for austin and carrie let me live happy ever after. i don't watch the show any more anyway |

Hey guys what can I say, this is Days at its best. Such imagination and so compelling of a story! Oh god make me gag! I don't know about you guys, but I would find it hard to see Lucas recast. Only BD can play that part. |

BD is the ONLY Lucas for me....if they couldn't write a good story for him and they let him go and then bring in a Lucas recast and write for him, I'd be livid! Plus I don't think that would go well with fans.... |
