Charles Shaughnessy is returning to Days of Our Lives for a multi-episode arc in the role that made him an ’80s sensation—suave ISA agent Shane Donovan.. An NBC rep says Shaughnessy—who briefly returned to Days in 2002—will appear on the soap for 10 or so episodes, though that might expand. Lumi B.A. Posts: 1,315 Group: All Access Lumi Member #946 Joined: July 9, 2008	Not that Corday is ever to be believed but supposedly they are suppose to have several returning characters all coming on for short periods of time as part of the goodbye to Alice Horton. Besides it fits with the same gimmick that has been working for Tomlin, stagger returns just right to keep viewers continuing to tune in for the latest "something new". Every other return has been a total disappointment and I'm still glad to be done with Days for good. I can see Charles Shaughnessy pretty much anytime I want - there is always a Nanny rerun on some channel and I'd even rather watch those than anything Tomlin & the gang can come up with for Shane.

It's likely part of the 45th anniversary celebration they're planning for the last half of the year. I love CS and I adored Shane, but unless his episodes happen to coincide with Bry's return for Alice's death, I won't be watching.

But I wouldn't turn in just to see five seconds of him here and there. Shane barely knows any Salemites anymore.

You screwed with Lucas; you screwed with this viewer who knew the character of Shane back in the heyday of the show, and I couldn't possibly fathom any storyline on this show now that would be worth bringing him back for.

Brings Shane and a lot of other people from Sami's past including Lucas back to save Sami from this whole EJ disaster. But they can pretty much bring back whoever they want. No Lucas (and by Lucas I mean Bryan) = Me No Care!
