Okay, its been forever since I've done one of these fics. I was actually working on a different fic but Will's recent confrontation with Sami sparked the writing moster in me and here we go. By The Way: I'm not a very good editor so expect mistakes. Sorry. Its my nature.  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Big Break By: CJStake RATING: I'm think its G. Its G to me. DISCLAIMER: None of these characters are mine. They're all the brainchild of those at Days of Our Lives and the property of NBC/Corday Production/Sony. But the story is all mine. Now Onto The Fic... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHAPTER ONE: William Roberts Horton stood outside of the Dimera Mansion with a frown on his face. It was dark. It was raining. And the door was locked. He had no place to go. But he should be used to it by now. Isn’t this his baggage, handed to him before birth? As he let the rain fall around him, Will surmised. He was destined for sadness. Just look at his parents. “Will?” a strangled voice whispered. The broken voice ran off the rest of his thoughts. Not that he needed them to stick around anyway. He knew where it would all lead. The young man turned toward the person standing behind him and held back his anger. She was after all holding his sister in her arms. “I’m so sorry, honey,” Sami Brady said with a sincerity most in town did not even know she possessed. She could not help but be sincere in this moment. Standing outside in the rain with her son, she understood it was because of her they were in this mess. She never should have trusted the Dimeras or tried to make a home in the middle of hell. Eventually, you end up out in the cold. Sami added that knowledge to the mountain of guilt she always carried, and felt especially when she looked at her son. “Mom, I’m tired,” Will whispered with a distress in his voice that broke Sami’s heart. “I know, Will. What I should have known is how we all were being played. I can’t believe I feel for all of their lies.” “Can you rip yourself apart some other time?” Will asked with a sigh. The umbrella was keeping the rain away from his sister and mom but he was left to his own devices. And the falling drops were hitting him with a speed and force that was sure to leave marks. “We need to find a place to stay.” Sami steeled herself from her growing guilt and thought for a moment. “I believe mom’s townhouse is still vacant. And the keys may still be in John’s safety deposit box.” Will turned away and rolled his eyes. “Mom, it’s passed midnight. The bank is closed.” “I’m sure we could get someone to open it for us.” Will groaned, struggling to hold back the words he wanted to say. He just wanted to let it all rip. He wanted to say he told her this would all end badly. But she never paid attention. He had told her the Dimeras were bad. But she did not listen. He had told her what he felt. But she did not care. But Will was tired of talking to her. He was tired of hearing her. He just wanted a break. With a new resolve, he handed his mother the umbrella and grabbed the suitcases at Sami’s feet. He was several steps ahead of her, before Sami realized he was walking away. “Will, where are you headed?” Will looked over his shoulder. The darkness of the night did nothing to hide the frustration and disappointment in his eyes. Sami could not run from it or him. She just wanted to break down and cry all over again. “Mom, just follow me.” “But—“ “Just follow me, please.” Will said as he turned away. And for the first time in a long time, Sami Brady did just that. She didn’t say a word. Not until they were well across town and standing at a different door. “I don’t think this is a good idea.” It was the first sentence Sami had uttered in nearly a half hour. A sentence Will ignored. Instead, he knocked. He could hear the rumbling going on inside the house and knew in moments his knock would be answered. He heard the door’s locks turn, felt the breeze as the door opened and looked up into the eyes of a man he knew would understand. “Hi, Dad.” Lucas Horton shook off the sleep fogging his brain. He had stayed awake during a red eye flight and two morning delays. Now he just wanted his bed. It took Lucas a moment to collect his thoughts. “Will, what are you doing here? Isn’t it… why are… what? Will felt a smile battling with the frown that seemed to be tattooed on his face, but it lost. “Can we stay here tonight?” Lucas’ mind finally cleared and for the first time tonight, he looked at his son. His soggy, sad son. He saw the frustration and anger in his eyes. But what tore at him was the loneliness he also saw hiding behind it all. “Sure, buddy. You can stay as long as you like.” “Thanks dad.” Will said with a sigh of relief. He gathered up the suitcases he carried and headed inside. Luca watched his son with confusion, but said nothing. Then the door struck something as it closed. He turned to see what it was. “Sami?” Lucas asked shocked. His confusion grew two folds. “Can you take your door off my foot?” Sami asked, looking down. Lucas immediately moved the door and let her in. Sami handed him the wet umbrella with an awkward smile. It was her special way of silently saying thanks. She was surprise they ended up at Lucas’ place. Though, she should not have been. Of course, their son would come here first. Lucas had just been away on business so much, Sami sometimes felt he had moved away. She even joked time to time that his place should be boarded up by now. ‘But he was here,’ she told herself. ‘For Will, he was here.’ “So where are we sleeping?” Sami asked, as she cradled a sleeping Allie in her arms. Lucas looked from son to mother, from mother to son. He was utterly confused. Then it hit him. And he did what any sane man who had known Sami Brady most of his life would do. He turned and looked her square in the eyes. “Sami, what did you do?” |
    It either spell Lumi in Chinese... or loveboat. | |

I love this story already yeah a new fanfiction and I love that Sami wants to stay with Lucas and Will at his place and that she brought Allie with her and that Lucas knows that something is wrong and that Will is sad. I love that Sami doesn't want to stay at the mansion and wants to stay with Lucas. I can't wait to read more of this story to see what happens next and I totally agree with the poster above.
