Woo Hoo! it's Cavs and LeBron's year! I like Grant Hill so I hope the Suns do well. I hate Kobe and the lakers with every fiber of my being, I'd love to see them knocked out of the playoffs! :smiles: :cheer:

Grant Hill is so easy to like, isn't he? I'd love to see this Suns team make a run, but I've always been partial to the Suns. It's a hard road for all the teams out west, though.

Meanwhile, of course my Celtics just had to start out the playoffs with a fight and Kevin Garnett getting tossed out of the game. Got the win, though. :)
Do you remember what she told him? She took her lover’s hand, and she said, “just because something is intangible doesn't mean that it's not real.” Lucas, no matter what happens, no matter what we’ve been through, no matter what I say, you will always be in my heart. -- Sami Brady, November 2007

I've been a fan of Grant's since his Duke days, the boy is awesome and such a good guy. I'm not a big Celtics fan, don't care for Garnett or Peirce but I do like Ray Allen.

I imagine it's hard to be a fan of both the Cavs and the Celtics at the moment. I like a lot of the Cavs-- Leon Powe and Antawn Jamison come to mind-- but I really don't care for Mo Williams and have seriously mixed feelings about LeBron.

But I will happily cheer the Cavs on if they find themselves in the finals with the Lakers!

OK, I know the league basically had to suspend KG. It suspends players for any hit above the neck, even if the guy had opposing players hanging all over him and was trying to clear breathing room for his teammate who had been knocked to the ground.

But nothing for the Miami players who grabbed at KG, knocked Big Baby to the floor, etc? Not crazy about that.

Hope the Celtics get extra fired up and win anyway, like the Magic did last year when Dwight Howard got his elbow suspension.

Lakers 1 - Zip. Good start so far. Although not a Celtics fan my husband loves KG. Too bad he's out. He's a great player but sorry I cannot stand crybaby Paul Pierce. He's right up there with Raja Belle and Reggie Miller as most annoying player. My favorite is Sasha V on the Lakers. Sorry can't spell his name. God he looks just like the original Shawn Brady.

Pierce is a bit of a divo, but what can we expect? He's from L.A., after all. :) I adore him for having been plopped on his home team's rival as a 20-year-old kid and learning to love it, and for sticking through all the bad years and coming out with a championship.

One thing I respect about Sasha Vujacic is the way he goes along with the Machine videos on YouTube. It's probably not something he likes deep down, but he lets the fans have their fun and even plays with them a little.

I was rooting for the Celtics a few years back...and they have come a long way. I do like Pierce but I agree with Hilary that he does appear to be a bit of a divo....Still rooting for the Cavs....and my son it's bent on the Suns going "all the way"...let's see how that plays out....

There's nothing wrong with Lebron or the Cavs... They're just not the Lakers.

If you want a classic NBA Finals, then there's only one match-up (no matter how many other teams think they have a rivalry with either team). It really comes down to Lakers-Celtics. In spite of the Celtics nearly 20 year championship drought (the Len Bias death really screwed up their plans) and the Lakers falling off the cliff for a decade after Kareem's retirement and Magic's HIV announcement, together or apart, they've played in more finals than any other teams, bar none.

I used to live in Ohio and saw LeBron when he was in highschool and he was so amazing. I understand some people don't like him because of the hype but he's Ohio & Cavs chance at a championship, I really hope they go all the way. I like LeBron, he's pretty amazing but my fave player is Mike Bibby, he just plays ball and for the most part never has any kind of negative stuff going on. I'd love for him to get a championship but not sure the hawks can go all the way but I'll always root for Bibby.
I'd like hawks or cavs to win however if someone else is in the playoffs playing the lakers I'd root for the other team everytime unless it's the Magic of course, hate Dwight Howard and the magic.

It's sad the Lakers weren't hate magnets till Kobe got there. Of course Magic was and is very likable and he and Bird had such respect for one another. So the team had his personality when he was there. Kobe is just so narcissistic and he's made the team unpopular.

Meanwhile, the Celtics have almost always been hate magnets. But it works for them, and the team with the most championships has to expect it. :)

Magic Johnson is such a beautiful human being. He publicly handled his HIV status so gracefully in the middle of raging ignorance and paranoia, and then followed it up all of his work to rejuvenate inner cities and such. Couldn't hate him if I tried. Kobe Bryant... um, yeah, he's the one player in the league I really loathe.

This might be his last chance at a championship with the Cavs and maybe a chance to stay with them....you know what I'm rooting for....I work in NYC....(HElloooooo Nicks!)......
