Hi guys. Here's my second installment. To be fair, I must warn you I'm posting this from my iPod. Hopefully the mistakes are few.

RATING: I'm think its G. Its G to me.

DISCLAIMER: None of these characters are mine. They're all the brainchild of those at Days of Our Lives and the property of NBC/Corday Production/Sony.

But the story is all mine. I apologize in advance.

PERMISSION: If its good, it's good to archive and has my permission. If not, to the dumpster it goes.

Now Onto The Fic...

CHAPTER TWO

Lucas Roberts stood by the coffee maker and let his mind drift. Even without his morning cup, this morning was a lot clearer than last night had been. Last night when his son came to the door and asked to stay the night, Lucas had been concerned. When he saw Sami and Allie had accompanied Will, a fathers concern had turned to dread. He knew, in his gut, that something was wrong. But that moment had not been the time to get the story.

The story officially came to light, while Sami and Lucas help the kids to bed. Apparently Sami had to admit that E J Dimera, the reformed bad guy, was not so much as reformed, as he was currently still the bad guy.

Lucas learned he had not only kidnapped Samis youngest child, Sydney, the Dimera also had faked her bloody death, faked her miraculous rescue and faked out Sami and half of the town. And with the help of his father, Sami had taken the kids to the Dimera mansion and had foolishly been taken in. Through it all, Will watched, unable to do anything. And Lucas had thought his flight home from Beijing was hell.

Now, Sami and his kids were at his place after being tossed out of the mansion for not understanding “the Dimera way” and Johnny and Sydney were back at the home on top of the preverbal hell mouth.

The entire episode pissed Lucas off. He was pissed off at the Dimeras, nothing new. He was angry that Sami had, once again, set herself up for a massive fall. Her entire story read like Sami and Franco part two, but Lucas' part was being played by his son.

Lucas held his anger in, knowing that it would only cause problems. Will already was on edge. He did not want to add to his son's dismay. So instead, Lucas made coffee. And that was what he was doing when Will entered the room.

“Hi dad. Any of that for me?” Will grinned. The teenager had slept the night away peacefully for the first time in months. Will had almost forgotten how it felt to have a good night's rest. But this morning, he remembered. It felt good not to worry about the future, to just close his eyes and rest.

Lucas raised a quick eyebrow at his son and Will, with a smile, backed off.

“I think the last thing you need right now is a stimulant.”

“What about me?”

Lucas chuckled at the small voice. He loved having breakfast with Will and Allie. They were always moments of pure joy, not yet tainted by the rest of the day. Lately those moments had been too far and between.

Placing Allie in her seat, Lucas smiled. “I think I can find a glass of OJ for you. In return for… say a kiss?”

Allie kissed her fathers cheek then sat back and waited. Expectation shone brightly in her eyes. Lucas grinned. She was definitely her mothers child.

While his dad headed for the fridge, Will sat down beside Allie. Lucas poured two tall glasses of orange juice.

“So what do you two have planned today?” Lucas asked as he grabbed the cereal boxes on top of the refrigerator.

“Dollhouse,” Allie stated proudly. She took her glass of orange juice like a prize befitting a princess.

“And you, Will?”

Will thought about it. This was a rare day for the teen. He did not have to watch his mom or protect his brother and sisters, or worry about not doing a good job at either task. He smiled at the freedom.

“I think Ill just go hang out and see what the gang's doing.”

"And by gang, Im sure you mean some of the kids at your school?” Lucas asked with a chuckle.

“Yes dad. I do mean a group of my classmates. But,” Will said, emphasizing the word. “I believe we receive our official gang certification letters in the mail next week. Once we have that paperwork, you must only refer to us as a gang. Any other moniker would just be disrespectful of the process.”

Will grinned as he finished his orange juice. Lucas tried to glower like a good parent should when confronted with their teen's smart mouth, but Will reminded him of himself at that age, that Lucas let it slide. Instead he handed Will the cereal box and smirked.

“Good one. But maybe you should learn to shorten your quips. You'll get a lot more of them in that way.”

Will nodded, making sure to remember the advice.

“When do we pick up Johnny and Sissy?” Allie innocently interrupted the two. “Sissy hasn't seen my dollhouse.”

Will waved the earlier light moments with his dad goodbye. He looked at Lucas and saw Lucas stiffen, mentally preparing what to say. He looked uncertain. Lucky for him, over the months, Will had become a master at coddling his baby sister. He spoke up before his father could even think of his next statement.

“How about you and I go to the park?” Will asked with just enough cheerfulness in his voice.

Allie frown, wrinkling her nose.

“But I thought you were going to a gang?”

Will smiled at his sisters turned phrase.

“I thought about it. But I would much rather hang out with you.” Will leaned in close and looked around. “You and me. A swings set… some monkey bars… maybe even icecream?”

The little girl's eyes light up.

“What about Sissy and Johnny?”

Will cleared his throat and glanced at his father. Lucas watched the scene quietly, staying clear and letting his son talk.

“Maybe tomorrow.”

A wide-eyed Allie gave Will a toothy grin then looked at her dad. Lucas nodded. With a shout of glee, Allie ran to her room. The two Horton men watched with joy and a tinge of sadness.

“You didn't have to do that, Will.”

“I know, dad.” Will said with a shrug. “But every kid deserves a worry free day.”

Lucas looked at his son with a new realization. He saw how much the teen had matured. Lucas was proud but troubled. Will was old enough to do better, but young enough he should not have to do so much. Will saw his father's concern and shrugged.

“Don't worry, Dad.” Will whispered. “Just take care of her. That takes care of a lot.”

Will hugged his father and went in search of Allie, leaving Lucas alone with his thoughts.

Like a worn out marathon runner, Will had just passed Lucas the baton weighing him down. Will had not asked him to promise to watch over his mother, but Lucas understood that was what he meant. And he felt Will deserved to have his request honored.

Lucas walked briskly to the bedroom nearest to Allie's and threw the door open. In response, the fair-haired beauty sighed in bed, soundlessly sleeping. It made Lucas sigh as well.

“It's always the pretty ones that are the most trouble.”

Lucas stood at the bed's headrest and watched. He waited. She turned, getting more comfortable. Seconds past. But when the moment was right, Lucas took it.

“Sami Brady! Get up!”

Sami's eyes flew open and she quickly sat up in bed. She looked at her surrounding in a haze, trying to remember where she was and why. Then her eyes fell on Lucas and she knew. With a groan, Sami laid back in bed.

“Lucas, whatever time it is, its too early for you to annoy me. Don't you have a job to get to?”

“Yes I do, Sami,” Lucas frowned. “Too bad I can't say the same about you.”

“Oh Lucas,” Sami sighed, turning away from him. “Why can't you understand that I've had a hell of night? Go a little easy on me, general.”

Lucas heard her soft plea and wanted to do just that. Go easy on her. She did look like she had drove through hell and had finally come to a decent rest stop. But then he heard the slam of the front door and knew Will and Allie had just left. Will was up, despite all he had been through, and he was taking care of Allie. Taking care of Sami was the least Lucas could do.

Lucas pulled the covers from Sami's clinging body and ignored the groan he heard.

“Sami, I'm going to go get us some bagels and decent coffee. I expect you to be awake, showered, and dressed by the time I get back. If those three things are not done, I will be back to help you finish them.” Lucas leaned into Samis ear. “And you know how much I love showering with you.”

With a quick kiss on the same ear, Lucas was gone. And Sami was definitely awake.

There’s someone I’ve been missing
I think that they could be
The better half of me
They’re in the wrong place trying to make it right
But I’m tired of justifying
So I say ...
Come home
Cause I’ve been waiting for you

What a wonderful second chapter and I agree with all of the statements above and Iam glad to see that Sami realise she was fool to trust YKW and that she realises he has not changed and never will and that hes the bad guy.

I hope Lucas and Sami come up with a plan to take the Dimera down for good and wind up getting Sydney and Johnny out of that house.

Poor Allie I feel for her and Will she wants her brother and sister under the same roof with her,Will,Sami, and her daddy Lucas and it broke Lucas heart not knowing how to explain to Allie about Johnny and Sydney.

I love how Lucas is taking care of Sami and that Will took Allie to the park to play on the swings and monkey bars. Il loved the Allie and Lucas scenes and Allie kissing her dad on the cheek was really sweet and really cute.

I wonder if Will and Allie are going to come up with a scheme together to help their parents out. I love that Lucas wanted to take a shower with Sami and that he thinks she looks beautiful when shes sleeping and that Lucas was watching Sami sleep and I loved that after he wispered in Sami's ear and that he kissed her on that ear.

I love how Lucas is looking out for his entire family and taking care of them. I love this story and can't wait to see what happens next.

Love Lucas' um, threat? Promise? ;)

Love Will's smartass remark, and Lucas giving him constructive criticism on how to be a smartass.

Love seeing Lucas interact Will and Allie... love seeing Allie with a personality instead of being shoved in back of Sydney/Johnny.
Do you remember what she told him? She took her lover’s hand, and she said, “just because something is intangible doesn't mean that it's not real.” Lucas, no matter what happens, no matter what we’ve been through, no matter what I say, you will always be in my heart. -- Sami Brady, November 2007
