Boy I've had a bit of writers block lately, finally cracked it just a tad. Here is an update. I also incorporated some videos into this story. My way of flashbacks of what the story would actually look like if we were seeing it play out on screen. The video snippets are what Lucas is actually remembering. Enjoy. All characters belong to Sony/Corday/Days of our Lives. Story is all mine. Ratings: PG-13 Author: Luvinglumi Total Darkness-Chapter 5 It was Tuesday, Lucas had been home for a couple of days and it was very tough being able to maneuver around the house without being able to see. It was hard on him because he had gotten use to everything being in it’s place at the transitional facility and it was even harder here now because Emily wouldn’t be able to swing by until later in the week to set up all the canned goods with Braille labels for him. Lucas had gotten very use to reading Braille and although it still took him a long time to read one sentence he felt it was only a matter of time before his speed would pick up. The one thing that Emily did manage to schedule was the visit with his kids. Sami would be bringing the children over later this evening. She told Emily that she would bring dinner for all of them and Emily told her she wouldn’t be there until Friday so it was only Lucas, her and the kids. Sami was pleasantly surprised that Emily wouldn’t be around and she thought that was a perfect opportunity to be able to talk to Lucas more about Allie and Will, and about their past too. The doorbell rang and Lucas yelled, “I’ll be right there, it takes me a while, so hold on okay.” “No problem, don’t worry, I don’t want you to hurt yourself.” Came the voice from outside his door. He recognized who it was but he also knew she was scheduled for the visit and she was bringing the kids. Lucas made it to the door and flung it open, he felt the pitter patter of a little set of feet and he felt someone’s tiny arms wrap around his legs. She clung onto his pants and wouldn’t let go. “Daddy, I love you Daddy!” The words hit Lucas like a ton of bricks. He knew he had a daughter and he was crushed that he couldn’t remember her. Not wanting to hurt Allie, he picked her up and pulled her close into a hug. “Hi baby girl, how are you doing?” “Daddy, mommy told me that you hurt your eyes.” “Yes, honey, I hurt my eyes, but Daddy is going to be better soon, you will see.” “Daddy, you can’t see?” “No, baby, but don’t worry about daddy, what have you been doing?” “I was having tea party at home and I bought you some tea daddy.” Lucas extended his hand and Sami took his arm and pushed it slightly toward were Allie had extended her little tea cup to give her father a taste of the imaginary tea. Lucas hesitated a bit, but then realized that Sami was only doing it to help. Lucas played the part rather well, pretending to take a sip out of the cup that Allie had given him. He chuckled and Sami started to laugh a bit. Suddenly Sami was crestfallen. She thought of how hard it was for Lucas to likely never be able to see his little girl again. Then an arm was put around Lucas and he knew who else had come to visit in addition to Sami and Allie. “Hey dad, how are you feeling?” “I’m better son, how are you doing? How are the ladies?” “They are problematic dad, real problems if you ask me.” “Yep, I know.” Lucas said that as he tried to look toward the direction of where he last heard Sami’s voice from. Sami was staring heavily at Lucas and she felt it was great as he couldn’t tell what way she was looking or make a wise remark or anything. Just then, Lucas questioned Sami, “Ah, Why are you staring at me?” Sami was baffled? Could he see her? How did he know? “What? I—I’m not staring at you.” Sami stammered. “Yeah, right? Okay. I can tell from your reaction that you were. “ Sami changed the subject and she quickly proceeded to sit down on the couch. “Hey Will?” “Yeah dad?” “Listen, I have a new computer game which now I can’t play so you might as well go upstairs and try to take a stab at it and let me know how you do. Oh okay dad, but I’m alright now I got my ITouch and I’m doing good.” “William, I need you to go upstairs so I can speak to your mom about something, it’s important so please.” “Okay, you could have just told me that from the beginning you know. You didn’t have to pepper me up with some fake video game.” “Wooh! Hold it there buddy, you aren’t to speak to me that way, I actually really thought you wanted to play that game and it’s not fake, I wasn’t lying, the CD is on top of the computer, if you want proof you know.” “Okay dad, sorry, didn’t mean to make you mad.” “Alright, do you me a favor and walk Allie up with you, I’m sure she has a few toys upstairs in the playroom that she hasn’t seen in months I guess and should spike her interest for a bit.” “No problem, come on Allie.” Will scooped his little sister up and carried her hurridly up the stairs while she giggled and laughed all the way up to the second floor of Lucas’ house.” “So, you want to talk to me?” Sami stated as she looked toward Lucas with a smile that would light up the room. “Yeah, I have a little dilemma.” “What?” “Well, Emily won’t be around until the weekend and I need a little help around the house, and I wa—a—s thinking that maybe you wouldn’t mind staying here for a few days. It’ll only be until Emily gets here and then you can go again.” Sami loved the idea of bunking a few days with Lucas, but she didn’t know if she could do that. She had Rafe who would certainly not like the idea that she would be playing helper to her ex-husband and father of two of her kids. She thought of proposing someone else to see what his reaction would be. “Well surely your mother can help you can’t she, I’m sure she’ll be here in a heartbeat if you ask her.” Sami really didn’t want him to ask Kate for help, but she wanted to make Lucas think about why he had chosen her over Kate. “Why me? And not your mom?” Lucas thought for a second and then proceeded to speak. “You want the truth?” “Of course.” “I don’t know why I want you here but I do. I have no explanation for it, but it doesn’t feel right for me to ask my mother over you. I just can’t explain it, i—ii—t’s instinct.” Just then Lucas closed his eyes tightly and remembered something: "It was instinct". Sami was against some brick wall in what appeared to be a wine cellar and he was diving in for a kiss, a few seconds later after a full makeout session had commenced he pushed away from Sami and when she asked him what that kiss was all about, he simply said, “It was instinct.” “Lucas, what’s wrong? You remembered something didn’t you?” Sami questioned and Lucas looked annoyed. His entire demeanor changed and he was anxious and didn’t want to talk, but finally opened up. “I hate this, I hate this so much! It’s like my life is surrounded by so many unknowns and I simply can’t keep doing this. I want to bury my past and not think. Every single memory of you is so draining Sami.” “But Lucas, what did you remember? Please? Tell me?” “I was kissing you again, it’s like about 80% of my memories involve us kissing. We must have done it a lot. We were really in love right?” “Yeah Lucas, we were very much in love.” Those words bought even more out and a stream of memories flooded Lucas then I Love You Memories and he fell into the comfort of his couch and put his hands on his head. Sami looked at Lucas and decided it would be best for her not to stay there. Maybe Will could help out and she could take Allie back and just leave him and Will. She noticed the frustration in Lucas and she really didn’t want to make it harder, but her presence caused him turmoil in his life and after everything she had done to him in the past that was the only thing she didn’t want to bring to him now, especially when he didn’t need it. “Lucas, I don’t think it’s smart for me to stay here, my presence obviously upsets you too much and I don’t want to hurt your recovery in any way, shape or form. I also don’t want to bring more stress to your life than you already have. So I think it would be best for Will to stay with you and I’ll take Allie back with me. Will is old enough and can help you around the house if need be.” Lucas was somber but he understood what Sami being around would do to him, he still wanted her around regardless and it was evident that he would likely not stop until somehow she wound up helping him, but he gave it a rest and agreed to have Will stay. Unbenounced to Lucas, Sami’s brain had been working overdrive and she was starting to come up with excuses on how she could convince Rafe that Lucas needed her help. Sami had gone back home and was trying to explain to Rafe what had gone on. That the person that was set to assist Lucas at home would be around for a few days and she needed to make sure that Lucas wouldn’t hurt himself somehow. Rafe realized what she was doing and came out with it. “Sami, It’s fine if you want to spend some time with him and your kids, I understand, really. I trust you.” “What? You trust me?” “Well, yeah. Shouldn’t I?” “Of course you should but you aren’t even a bit jealous?” “Sami, the guy can’t even remember you? Plus why would I be jealous of Lucas? I have everything he ever wanted and more. I have you and I love your kids as if they were my own.” Sami stared at him for a minute and then realized that Rafe was right. Why would he be jealous of Lucas, he didn’t know exactly how she felt did he? “Okay, thanks honey. I have to go pack.” “So what are you going to do, move in with him?” “Well, yes, that is what I was trying to tell you.” “I don’t think you need to necessarily move in with him. You can spend the day over there and then make sure he makes it upstairs and then come home and then go back the next morning. You don’t have to sleep over there.” “I thought you trusted me?” “I do Sami, but it seems ridiculous to me, sorry.” “Well, maybe it’s because you aren’t blind and you haven’t lost your memory, but I’m sure it’s not ridiculous for Lucas.” Rafe caught the rather defensive tone in Sami and immediately realized what was happening. “Sami?” “Yeah.” “You still have feelings for Lucas don’t you?” Sami stammered but responded with a very firm and decisive, “No, he is the father of my kids and I owe it to them to try to help him out in any way I can.” “Okay, no problem then. When will you be back?” “I believe Emily gets there on Sunday, so I guess Sunday night.” “Emily?” “Yeah, she’s the woman that’s suppose to be helping Lucas around the house.” “Did you see her? Do you know what she looks like?” “Yes I did? Why do you even care?” Rafe hesitated for a second and then proceeded to answer the question. “It’s nothing, don’t worry.” (to be continued)

Why couldn't the show of written something like this for Lucas and Sami for this is some really incredible stuff. I would have truly enjoyed the angst and them trying to fight their feelings for and not being able too and this would of been the way to start the Lucas/Sami/Rafe storyline out for sure. I love this chapter and I loved the video you picked out for Lucas memories and what he remembered about Sami The clown car kiss, Sami telling Lucas she loves him many times and Sam wanting Lucas to spend the night and the lean in kiss before they make love and all those wonderful other wonderful hot super sexy kisses that were featured as well. I love how Lucas is not going to give up untill he gets Sami to stay with him and I love that Sami is going to go and stay with him. Yes Rafe Sami does still have strong loving feelings for Lucas just like you still have strong loving feelings for Emily and when you heard Sami bring up her name and hearing that she would be in town to help Lucas on Sunday it made you curious hasn't Rafe if this Emily is your Emily. I wonder how Rafe and Emily will react seeing each other again will Rafe stop by and will Emily run into him and they start to talk. I also love that Sami is having Will stay with Lucas to help out and I loved the Lucas and Allie interaction as well. I hope Lucas comes up with a plan to get Sami to stay with him much longer and that Sami does because she truly doesn't want to leave him. This is a truly awesome story and a really awesome chapter from the begining to the end and I absolutely loved it and I truly can't wait to read what happens next for this story truly rocks.
