James Scott Talks About the Rape Scene
Posted by: admin In: Uncategorized

By James Plouf

There are a couple of topics you probably want to avoid when you are talking to James Scott. First, don’t ask about all his tattoos. For the record he has tattoos (writing) on his inner forearm. I have also heard from another cast member that he has a good portion of his arm/shoulder covered in tattoos. There is speculation that these tattoos are the reason he is always in suits. Covering up the ink with makeup is a time consuming task.

The second topic to stay away from is the rape scene on Days. This is controversial stuff so I will tread lightly. In the scene EJ offered Sami his assistance in saving Lucas if she would have sex with him in the car. He did not force her with any physical threats to have sex. She could have said no.

Anyway, at the meet and greet I did have a chance to discuss this with James Scott. He made it clear that he was a bit tired of talking about it and that people need to realize that it is a tv show. If he had it to do all over again he would have re-written the scene so that Sami was the one offering the sex in exchange for his help. His exact words when describing the re-write of the scene: “I’ll fuck you if you save Lucas… I mean I’ll have sex with you.”

I love it when celebrities drop the F-bomb. It makes me feel like they are human and that they feel comfortable enough to be themselves.

Yeah, she could have said no, except for the pesky little matter of the gun that he had been waving around earlier. What a stupid comment.

And James Scott, if you're tired of hearing about it, then good. That means our RINR campaign continues to work, and we won't stop it anytime soon.

Just when you think James Scott can sink any lower.....this.

I've often wondered if he would be so freaking arrogant if what happened to Sami happened to someone he loved--assuming his ego allows for that. Would he tell that someone to move on, she made a deal? Would the threat of someone dying being used to get sex not consitute rape?

The fact that the issue keeps coming up tells me the general viewing audience still has issues with EJ's rape of Sami and it's why the ratings are in the toilet. People aren't accepting the rapemance. It's not going away. Oh and for the rapemis trolls, clearly James saw what happened not as an act of love, as you try to spin it, but just a *uck. Nice.

Oh, and it's funny. Days was willing to work on Bryan's tattoos so he could be shirtless. Yet they aren't for Mr. Arrogance. Thanks, make up crew! No amount of makeup can cover up the ugliness that comes from the inside of James and his character.

Why am I not surprised that he would have preferred the story dictate that Sami degrade and virtually sell herself - a complete insult to women everywhere - than make his character carry the stigma of rapist forever? Certainly it would be much better (for him) if Ali's character were deemed a slut.

He never ceases to enrage me.

Seriously, EJ had a gun in the car. Period. End of story. THAT is a threat. Stupid, moronic, imbecile!

Oh, and is poor punkin' tired of talking about it? Awww ... my heart bleeds.

If Ali would only realize the ultimate damage these comments actually STILL pose on her character she would tell him to actually stop diminishing the rape. She continues to call it that when asked about it. I wish Days would realize what sweeping something like this story under the rug does...THIS IS WHAT IT DOES! I'm glad everyone still asks him about it and I'm glad he still finds the need to say something even as arrogant as it was it still brings the point home that the pairing is vile. People are not going to forget the rape OR the way the writers decided to write the aftermath, which to me is even more damaging that the act itself, he emotionally raped her for MONTHS afterwards. Oh and James....maybe next time if you REALLY don't want to talk about it you can simply say, "no comment" that would end it wouldn't it? But since you bring it up....thank you!

You know I wish that Ali would tell him to shut up and stop saying stuff about her character...seriously why couldn't he say if I would have the ability to rewrite it, I would have bought in an Elvis twin, or I wouldn't have raped her but blackmailed Sami into telling Lucas that we had sex when we didn't and made Lucas believe that her child was Ej's...there was so many ways to rewrite that without pointing out to Sami being the slut! Way to go James once again you are proving to be a donkey butt...

Yeah, James is the best RINR campaigner ever.
He's our little passive-aggressive campaigner. ;) I think in his heart of hearts he truly despises being trapped in rapemi. Talking about the rape when he could easily just decline to answer questions on the subject is his small way of fighting back against the rapemi fan machine. One thing I've always admired about Bryan is that he has the balls to speak his mind. When James first arrived on the scene, he seemed to have them too, but they've slowly shriveled up and died. I've seen his cult followers, so I guess I can understand why...

Anyhow, for the NBC spies reading this, just know that most of us watched Days for a very long time. We don't forget its history, ever.

What have I told you about insulting donkeys?

James doesn't care about the show or anyone or anything but himself. One of the reasons many Sami fans have tuned out is because of her ruination with this story. He doesn't give a damn, but then again, he still believes that 56=5,000.

What Mr. Scott fails to realize that real women watch the show that pays his salary. In the real world, one out of four women is raped or molested during their lifetime. We all know someone who has been raped, whether we know they have been raped or they keep that information a secret. Some of the people James works with will also fall into that catagory. He just doesn't think.

There is a reason the ratings are down since the show went pro-rapemi. Corday has connected the dots. If James has an ounce of sense in his head, he'd distance himself from rapemi and more on. Ejole made him semi tolerable (EJ, not JS because JS is a work unto himself). Rapemi makes both EJ (for his actions) and JS (for his comments) vile.

I've always admired that about Bryan too...but you see he isn't fake so that makes perfect sense that he would say whatever is on his mind, no matter the consequences. Didn't he years ago say that he didn't think Lumi would work? Or that he wasn't too keen on the idea when fans started suggesting the pairing more and more....and only after the story began to play out and he saw just how popular they could be was when he changed his mind? Heck he even said that Rapemi had chemistry....I still wish he would have never said that but he was great for speaking his mind....I admire that about him. Now going back to JS, I think he sees the writing on the wall more than anyone else, maybe he isn't that smart as he makes himself out to be...if he were smart he would have tried to keep the Ejole fans happy but he's done nothing but alienate them with his pro rapemi shock interviews in the beginning of May.....then he can also try to win over new EJ and Arianna fans...apparently there is growing buzz out in the boards that he and LH do have chemistry going and that basically the story as it's being written can serve as EJ's redemption if he falls in love with someone that loves him back without looking for money or babies, or anything.....but no he does neither, maybe after last weekend he noticed what we all already knew that when it counts that fanbase can't live up to their 'numbers'.

You know, before the total change in Sami and before EJ turned into a total donkey butt I actually liked them as friends. That was of course before the rape. Now though, I don't want them in the same room much less as rapemi.

You know, Bryan and I discussed that rapemi remark and I pointed out how many people were rape victims and how offensive the thought of it was and he told me he hadn't thought of it from their pov and said that given that information, he wouldn't go rapemi. Bryan at least cares about the fans. As James repeatedly has shown, he couldn't give a flying fig.

Ali's position on what happened right after the scenes aired...

http://boards.celebrityloop.com/showthread.php?s=80ddf9ddf27fdba14f19ca9b653a7a63&t=60258

Hi everyone Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I did... but more on that later.

This morning I was surfing the net, seeing the response from the fans in regards to Sami's new storyline. I guess when you're in the middle of it, it's hard to see it obejctively, but I must admit to being shocked by some of the posts I read on the subject of Rape. I hadn't realized how clever Hogan had been at developing a story that has so many different points of view... that people can all watch the same scene and interpret it in different ways.

What motivated me to post - on Sami's behalf ;) - were the people who think Sami's 'gone back to her old ways' by lying about EJ's inovlvement in rescuing Lucas, and the rape. Most people seem to think she should tell. Am I the only one who heard James Scott (plays EJ) skillfully deliever the line in an incredibly menacing tone "If you tell the cops you saw me, you will wish you were dead. If I get arrested, I will tell them that you helped me escape, and we've been sleeping together for months. And when Lucas comes to hear that you and I have known each other..." while pointing a gun?

That seems pretty cut and dry to me.
From Sami's perspective, she doesn't have the option of telling the truth - She wanted to tell Roman and couldn't because of EJ's threats.

This storyline has really been such a challenge to play. I love how difficult it is to play scenes where Sami has to pretend everything is okay, and then find moments for the audience to see her inner demons. I hope you all are enjoying Days as much as I am right now!

I love the debate, and I can't wait to hear what you all think!

xoxo

And this was posted January 2nd 2007. The scenes aired December 29th 2006 so it must have been before every rapemi started spinning the same story and influencing her opinion to keep shut.

James has called it rape, Ali has called it rape. I don't know why he's got to get so pissy over calling it what he's called it.

And it was this storyline that made me stop watching Days long before Bryan left the show and even before Lumi were completely destroyed. As much as I love the romance of Lumi, I will not condone, by watching, a show that glorifies what constitutes a heinous act of aggression against a character who had already suffered a rape. Furthermore, I think that Ali, James Scott, and the whole staff of writers collude in what I will call a violation of my trust as a viewer. As for those who support this storyline, without any kind of calculated and meaningful redemption of the EJ character, simply argue for the psychological enslavement of women.

You, rapemi fans, are the worst kind of colluders. And this statement comes from someone who stridently and actively supported the Jack and Jennifer romance, but that storyline was saturated in Jack's shame and guilt. He paid for his sins tenfold over, always living with the ghosts of his mistakes. This character, this abomination of a character, signals the decline of the soap opera because his existence marks how disconnected the soap world is from the real one.

As for James Scott, I agree with him. It is just a TV show, which is why I turned it off.

His interview reminds me of that dirtbag CEO of BP who wants his life back. So sorry, JS, that real women who regard and respect other women might find it offensive that the actors and the writers of a show that is targeted toward women would so blatantly demonstrate their disrespect for their audience. I'm so sorry that you are tired of hearing about the rape - life must suck for you. Why don't you volunteer at a rape center and tell those women that they had the opportunity to say no, especially those who had a gun pointed at them? I'm going to say it, but he's an ass. <You are welcome to edit that last part out>.
