I know it's no shocker that all the vets are leaving after Monday, and really the only Horton's we'll have left are Hope, Nathan, Maggie, and Lumi's kids. I can't help but wonder if they're trying to subtly get rid of the Horton's all together.

Or not to subtly, as the case may be. It might sound like blasphemy to even say it, but it really is starting to look that way. Considering they never use anywhere but the Pub, and occasionally Maggie's house since Alice's will be torn down forever *Still breaks my heart to think of that* And really, the only time the Horton's have been getting storylines were Alice's illness and death, and Nathan with Stephanie. Maggie's on screen a lot lately, but for a long time she was backburnered.

Maybe they're trying to make room for the Hernandez extended family to move in *Gag* Had to ask what ya'll think of this.

It wouldn't surprise me. Unfortunately most of the Hortons that have meaning to the show (sorry but Nathan is just too new for me) are just too expensive to have on air and most have left. Why they even keep Bo and Hope at this point in time is a mystery considering that all they do is rehash the same storyline over and over and over. Maggie is great and I love her character but I think that they'll probably start doing with her what they did with Alice. At first we'll see her from time to time at the hospital volunteering or out visiting and then as time goes on we'll only see her at her house when someone needs advice and on holidays and eventually we'll be lucky to see her once or twice a year. With the exception of a few characters the show has pretty much been sold to the 20-something crowd (no offense if you fit in this group, I'm just saying it would be nice to have more!)

You could be right,
BUT, I hope they are going back toward the Hortons instead of away. Maggie is going to be in a nice storyline with Victor (or so it seems) Nathan is going to be in his little love story with Stephanie and Melanie. I hear that Doug and Julie might stick around--and on Matt Ashford's facebook their are rumors that he and Missy might be returning. I think Will is going to be getting a storyline with Stefano trying to control him (Rumor) which would be a perfect time for Lucas to step back in the picture. Everyone seems to be asking for this new Bill to stick around. Maybe if the actor isn't tied to something else, they can bring him back and let him cause some trouble with the Maggie/Victory story and the Kate/Stefano story! I assume Hope's story will get moving soon with her being the Salen head hitter and she will needs some family, unless Bo regains his mind soon and returns to her.
There is lots of things for the Hortons to be doing, if the writers let them do it!

I don't think they're actively trying to eliminate them - now if they remove Nathan & Maggie, I'll reconsider, but I think it's just a lull. Soon enough I'm sure Allie will be sorased into a bitter teen with Mommy/Daddy issues and we'll have plenty of Horton storylines again.

I want Lucas, Jennifer and Jack back, hopefully with Abby and Jack Jr in tow. I wouldn't mind Bills taying town either. Bring back not only Lucas but in no way tear down the Horton kitchen. Jack and Jenn would need somewher to live, would they not? Prefect place and let them be starting to ease in to roles of possibly Salem Patriach and Matriach again?
BRING BACK THE HORTONS!

I do think it's interesting that they chose to give Nathan "Horton" as a last name even though it doesn't exactly make sense. But that makes it easier for him to have children also surnamed Horton... and Will's name was also switched TO Horton, meaning his kids will also probably carry the name.
Do you remember what she told him? She took her lover’s hand, and she said, “just because something is intangible doesn't mean that it's not real.” Lucas, no matter what happens, no matter what we’ve been through, no matter what I say, you will always be in my heart. -- Sami Brady, November 2007
