I didn't include any incomplete fics except where they are long already and/or where there is a reasonable expectation of them being continued. I didn't include more than three fics per author, and I didn't include fics that are not in the archives here at 2C. Where an author has both general archives and adult archives at 2C, I made an effort to take fics from both. I tried to highlight as many authors as possible and as many kinds of fics as possible, so I know I missed a lot. This is not a definitive guide to fics that are good or even fics I like... it's an attempt at a cross-section for readers who don't know where to start. All readers who venture into this thread should feel free to add links to the fics I missed. All authors who venture into this thread should feel free to demand that I change my summary of your work. All anyone who ventures into this thread should let me know if a link is broken or incorrect. I gave it my best shot, but by the law of averages I suspect I screwed some of them up. Amee * Adrift. Sami in the aftermath of her rape by EJ. Absolutely beautiful, lyrical, well-crafted character study. * Like a Gull Takes to Wind. Confident, beautiful college-girl Sami is almost 20, but her ex-boyfriend Lucas declined to de-virginize her! She sets out to remedy the situation. (Incomplete.) Ann55 Better the Devil. After Sami uncovers Brandon's affair with Lexie, she finds herself unexpectedly open to the possibility of a romance with the devil she knows-- Lucas. Wonderful, sympathetic, multifaceted portrayal of Sami. Good use of a variety of smart, witty characters-- Lexie and Brandon and Jack and Jennifer as well as Lumi. Crise de Foie. Lucas falls asleep and gets a visit from his unborn daughter, who has a thing or two to say about the state of her parents’ non-relationship. * The Midnight Sun. At Sami’s wedding to Austin in Las Vegas, Austin reveals that Sami never hit Will and Sami reveals that Lucas and Kate framed her for murdering Franco. ali9 * Vacation. During the serial killings, Sami and Lucas try to take a vacation from each other. Will has other ideas. Dramatic and hilarious at the same time. Looking In. About 2004, a mysterious observer watches Sami, Lucas, and Will. Prettily written slice of happy Lumi. Only When She Sleeps. Character sketch; about 2004, Lucas reflects on Sami. Ann415 * The Great RAS Mystery. Sami and Lucas set out to discover why children in Salem don’t age at a consistent rate. They learn that other towns, like Llanview, Pine Valley, and Port Charles have also been affected. And then there’s the matter of the Salem serial killer… Great humor/satire. * They're All Gone. Between the serial killer and Belle’s plans, Salem’s population is dropping. Sami and Lucas don’t mind. * It Could Have Been Worse. Sami and Lucas are dead and 17-year-old Will is angry and bitter. Incredibly versatile author... this fic is definitely nothing like her humorous fics above. Amanda * Shattered. Lucas visits a mute Sami in the hospital after she falls through the DiMera Mansion’s glass doors. Perfect mix of humor and drama in a rare ficlet from someone who usually writes epics. Deep Blue Sea. Sami and Lucas on the Titanic, with incredible attention to historic details. (Complete, but not completely archived... finding the last chapters might require hunting.) Hope, Dreams, and Emily. In 1995, Sami runs away while pregnant with Lucas' child. From there, things differ greatly from what happened on the show. (First three books are complete. Each is legitimately novel-length on its own.) BellaLuna130 * An Irish Romance. Shawn Brady returns to his ancestral home in Ireland and brings Sami and Lucas along. Lucas and Sami reunite as they learn surprising things about Sami's family. Written well before the show's ridiculous version of Shawn's Irish past, and vastly superior. * The Way I Want it to Be. Sami tells Lucas the truth about Stan. bookdal * Unrequited. Lucas' life went into a tailspin when Sami was murdered. But he's still able to get under the skin of amnesiac Sandra Hebert, despite the fact that they've never come face to face. The author does a masterful job of drawing out the suspense through a novel-length story. * On Leaving Him Behind. Sami knows the wrong sisters are with the wrong brothers, but she is powerless to change that. "Yet I feel bad for him. He loves her quietly, from a distance. I love in surround sound whereas Austin suffers in muteness." * Another Way. After an attack by Marlena, Sami hovers between life and death. Lucas and the others wait. Candace * Red Cognition. Absolutely fantastic peek inside Lucas' mind during the Italy storyline. * Negotiation Participation. Sami and Lucas hate each other. Also, they have a lot of X-rated sex. Sounds plausible. CanuckDaysfan * I Dream of Sami Gene. The women of Salem are participating in a “Win a Date With a Genie” auction. The men of Salem are bidding on them. What could go wrong? * Fortune's Crook. Lucas and Sami have been over for five years. Sami finally hits rock bottom. About as painful as the previous fic is silly. * Solstice. As Christmas approaches, Sami gets a gift she didn't want when she takes a good look at Sydney's blood type. As always, she turns to Lucas. (Incomplete.) CarlyBabes * Mutual. "Maybe we could be… mutual more often?" In 2004, Sami and Lucas spend a night together. Cedar * Operation Lumi Lockdown. Will-- along with Abby and a collection of friends and relatives-- puts an elaborate scheme to unite Lucas and Sami in action. * The Diary. While helping Will with his homework, Lucas finds Sami's diary. Serial killer timeframe. * The Truth. Kate, fearing Lucas and Sami's growing closeness, tells Sami that Lucas killed Franco Kelly. Lucas and Sami deal with the fallout. CJStake * On the Way. Sami gives birth to her second child. * Parent/Teacher Conference. See title. See how it's rated NC-17. A fine smutlet. * Already Joined. Novel-length fic opens with Lucas' marriage to Denise but doesn't end there. ErinLis * Mrs. Needlehaus' Loverboy. Sami and Lucas' elderly neighbor Mrs. Needlehaus thinks they protest to much when they claim not to be involved. A novel-length quintessential version of Lumi's journey from denial to romance. There are several other fics in this universe as well. * Lunar Movements. Frustrated with Lucas' inability to admit his feelings, not to mention her own, Sami takes off to visit Eric in California. * The Perfect Gift Lucas' POV as he finds the perfect Christmas gift for Sami. Frances22_81 * The Salem Bitch Trials. "The judge opens the floor to any suggestions on who should burn for being a bitch. Sami Brady doesn't waste anytime and stands up with two names on her mind." Fun, tongue-in-cheek fic. * When Lucas Met Sami. When Harry Met Sally, Lucas and Sami style. You see, Lucas doesn't think a man and a woman can just be friends... * Cherish. One of few script-format fics on 2C. Lucas and Sami attend Will's school's annual family camping trip. They save the life of a young girl who happens to have a stunning singing voice much like that of an early 90s pop star who Lucas knew very well. Gwenyth * My Family, by Will Roberts. Will writes a school essay describing his family. Sami and Lucas react. * Faith. After Lucas finds Sami in bed with Brandon and calls off their wedding, Sami discovers that she is pregnant. Lots of Salemites, especially Alice, play large roles in this fic. (Incomplete.) hopeandlove * Silk. Eight years have passed since Sami married EJ to save her family. But Lucas and Sami can't avoid each other. Smutlet with a bittersweet twist. HopeAnn * Dealing With the Devil. Kate will do anything to keep Sami and Lucas apart, even kidnap Sami and keep Lucas from his child. * Souls Intertwined. After falling through Tony's glass doors, Sami has a talk with her aunt Samantha. * Raspberries and Darkness. Sami POV; smutlet. IvyLeagueDays67 * On the Run. Sami is on death row for murdering Franco Kelly. Lucas has nightmares about her impending execution. But what can he do? * Every Breath You Take. A version of the 1999 helicopter crash where Sami's injuries are more serious and the fallout is very different. (Officially incomplete, but could be read as complete.) * Baby of Mine. It's 1995 and Sami is pregnant with Will. One of many twists is that Lucas is the one who delivers him! (Incomplete.) Jaina * Will & Abby: Fathers. A sweet moment between Will and Abby at Jack's funeral. Jaymie * Crazy Love. Sami accidentally shoots Lucas in an argument over Will, and she hides him in a cabin to keep him from accusing her of attempted murder. But a snowstorm strands them there and sends them in a new direction. This fic is a little rough around the edges, as most of Jaymie's are, but they're some of the oldest Lumi fics on this site, so I wasn't going to leave them off a list like this. * The Horton/Brady Fireworks Spectacular. Eric and Nicole are in a horrible holiday accident. Lucas and Sami react. * Winner Takes Will. Clearly the best way for Lucas and Sami to resolve their custody dispute is by playing pool. Kari936 * Oh Brother! "I never thought the day would come when I'd be standing in Sami Brady's bedroom watching her have sex with my brother." Witty and sexy. Katrinachance * A New Start At Love. A pregnant Sami left Salem when her wedding to Lucas failed. Five years later, she returns with an explanation and two children. Kayla_V * Unzipped. Bonnie Lockhart opens a male strip club. Lucas and his brothers find themselves with an interesting new job. * What It Takes. Nicole is secretly a popular romance novelist, but she can't take credit publicly. So Sami agrees to pose as the author while Lucas poses as the inspiration... * Fears and Desires. The serial killer murders Belle and Chloe. Sami may have seen something, but remembers nothing. Chaos ensues. KimarieDreams * Life's Changes. Thanks to Lucas, Austin dumps Sami at the altar in Las Vegas. Austin's next step, though, is to sue for custody of Will. (Marked as incomplete but could be read as complete.) Kim19224 * A Little Bit of Hope. A pregnant Sami is kidnapped by Tony, and Alan Harris and the real Stan the Man add complications. * Why Am I the Way I Am?Sami reflects. kittykat1885 * A Child In Need. Lucas and Sami add an abused child to their already growing family. KrazyC * Happy Birthday Lucas Roberts! In 2003, Lucas gets a birthday to remember. * Misunderstandings & Making Up. It's July 4, 2022, and Lucas and Sami's daughter reflects on how she came to be. Legallybored * All Mine. In 2007, Lucas and Sami are planning a wedding and a new baby, but EJ is in the way. (Marked as incomplete, but could be read as complete.) LilyA * And the Fireworks Fly. Lucas' wife Nicole has AIDS, leaving Eric and Lucas at risk at the annual Horton/Brady barbecue. A lot more fun and lighthearted than you would think. * Enemies and Lovers. Child Protective Services has had it with Lucas and Sami's battles over Will. Lucaslover The Unanswered Prayer. A poem for Will. The Matchmaker. Lucas' cousin Cassie (not that Cassie) decides to fix his love life. LumiForever * Who Says You Can't Learn From the Past? When Sami filled out Will's baby book, she learned that Lucas was his father. Could the same thing happen with Johnny? And what would the DiMeras do if it did? (In progress... look for updates to this one on the fic board!) LumiLiterati * My Grown Up Christmas List. Sami gets what she wants for Christmas. All it takes is a little supernatural intervention. A holiday ficlet. * Backwards. Lucas and Sami are on a break, and while Lucas is dating Manda, the rest of Salem wants him back with Sami. They're wiling to help Sami out, starting with using Patrick Lockhart to make Lucas jealous. * Three's a Charm. Lucas and Sami are expecting triplets. Lumill * Come Away With Me. Sami is committed to Brandon. Lucas doesn't approve, even as he dates around. But dangerous men are following Lucas, and Sami can't stop herself from being drawn to him as she tries to build a life with Brandon... . Even if you don't read it, you need to check out the pretty banner. MarinaBlack * Family Matters. A teenage Belle, pregnant by Philip, turns up crying on Sami's doorstep. Lucas and Sami's life takes an unexpected turn as a result. * Above the Law. Lucas is a mobster, and he gets what he wants... but Sami and Will have no interest in leading a mob life. MaryBeth * And He Returned. Almost a poem. Very short, but manages to hit the essence of Lumi in a timeless way. * Lessons. Sami reviews her life choices as she faces her final judgment. Or not. maye * Seeking Butterflies. A high school ficlet, in which a very young, less than friendly, Sami and Lucas cross paths. As Lucas holds Allie on the day of her birth, all he wants to do is dwell on the horrible future he sees for her. But his family has other ideas. Lucas-centric ficlet. * Devil's DozenDevil's Dozen. Thirteen years have passed since Lucas was sent to prison for shooting EJ DiMera and EJ took Sami, Allie, and Johnny to London. Dark. * I See London, I See France. A tragic tale of honor, courage, duty, and Belle's underwear. Melissa * Contradiction. Ficlet. Lucas can both hate and love Sami. * April Showers. Ficlet. Lucas announces his plan to marry Denise. Sami doesn't like that idea very much. Mepez1 * Mr. Fuzzy Explains It All. One of the more unique POV ficlets in 2C's archive. MonaLisa * Try, Try Again. Lucas POV. Lucas and Sami are new grandparents. This slice of a Lumi future that didn't happen feels ridiculously real in very few words from an authentic Lucas voice. * Sins of the Father. Alan raped Sami. Sami told Alan she didn't get pregnant. Sami lied. Brilliant portrayal of teenage Lumi in a messy situation. (Incomplete.) * Homecoming. It begins in summer 2001, as Lucas emerges from his coma. It deals beautifully with all the issues Lumi had up to that point. The simplest scenes become soapy, memorable character studies, like Lucas' elaborate plan to allow Philip to dance with Chloe by manipulating Sami, Belle, and Shawn.... (Yes, Felicia, I know you wish I wouldn't choose this one. But I love it.) Nadia * She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not. Lucas and Sami become engaged in the aftermath of Lucas' dalliance with Manda. Their engagement has some ups and downs. Naptowngirl111 * Our Son. This ficlet is a much-improved version of the wedding day reveal of Will's paternity. * Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead. Kate dies. Salem reacts. Afternoon Delight Smutlet. Nicky That Which Was Broken. In the aftermath of Kate's 's plot to kill Sami in Italy, Sami has been institutionalized and Lucas has become her devoted visitor. But when Sami leaves the hospital in the throes of a hallucination, she and Lucas (and Eric!) find themselves in danger that's very real. Funny, sexy, and full of action. * Where There's a Will, There's a Way. Four year old Will is secretly a supergenius, and he won't rest until his parents are together. Better Than Candy . "It was my partner Scami and I decked out in tight, knit sweaters and form fitting pants." Another tongue-in-cheek fic, in which a newly reunited Lumi scheme as only they can. NickyJean The Petals of a Flower. In 55 words, Sami contemplates her relationship with Lucas. Written in 2001; still true. * The Sting. It's 2000. Lucas has just found out that Kate paid Nicole to marry him. Brandon is marrying Angela to help Sami get custody of Will. Absolutely every character is working one angle or another... QuasiOuster * The Thanksgiving Boot. "I’m just happy that we can finally spend a holiday together, without Mom burning something." A Lumi Thanksgiving ficlet. * Alter Ego. Sami wants Lucas. Belle wants Philip. This would be fine if Lucas and Philip hadn't switched bodies. RealityChecker * Email From the Edge. Sami has left town, but she exchanges emails with Lucas and Will. * 3 Doors Down. Lucas and Sami make progress in their relationship by discussing the music of 3 Doors Down. But handyman Ted adds unwelcome complications. * Skeletons in the Closet. A fic at least as much for Rex and Mimi as for Lucas and Sami... warning for mental illness and drug abuse. SamanthaStarr * Save the Best for Last. General Hospital crossover. Sami and Will befriend Carly and Michael. Carly helps Sami give Lucas a second chance. SamiNow (a/k/a thewhitepot) * Life After the Engagement. Opens with Lucas and Sami happily engaged, but it isn't long before they learn that Alan Harris has become a counselor at Will's camp. The birth of triplets also postpones their honeymoon... but they get there. Erasing All the Bad Days. A DiMera time machine gives Lucas and Sami the opportunity to rewrite their past. (In progress... look for new chapters on the fic board!) Sami-ScarlettOHara Under the Covers. It's 1961, and Sami punches her new boss-- who is also her friend Jack's brother-in-law-- in the face. Can they learn to see under the covers? A Holly Jolly Lock-In. Sami and Lucas are locked in a department store while Christmas shopping, but they find a way to pass the time. Smutlet. I Will if You Will. "Tired of forever gasping and grasping for a hold, I'd left the shoreline. I'd run as far and as hard as I could, but there was something I'd forgotten. When Kate breaks up Lucas and Sami, Sami moves on with Matthew. But Matthew isn't what he seems, and soon Lucas and Sami are in danger. sue * Alive. What Lucas loves about Sami is that she's so alive, and makes him alive, too. Lucas, Sami, Austin, and Carrie are with the wrong people. SuperSami * If Only. The quintessential "if only Sami had known Will was Lucas' son from the start" fic. * Silence is Golden. Sami stands accused of the murder of Victor Kiriakis, who had been blackmailing her. She won't say a word in her own defense. * Rock Bottom. A thorough exploration of Lucas' alcoholism, his issues, and his relationship with Sami. Teris * Darkest Hours Before Dawn. It's 2002. At Nicole's behest, Victor tortures Sami. It's enough to make Sami trust her other enemy, Lucas. Dark. (Incomplete, could be read as complete.) Tigerlily96 * Two Months: A Bet. In 1998, Sami is seeing Franco and Lucas doesn't like it because he doesn't want him to become Will's step father. Waiting4Blue * Pain Before Pleasure. Sharing custody of Will throws Lucas and Sami into each other's paths on a regular basis. Soon, they find that they don't mind very much. WillowsAngel Nightly Visits. Ficlet set while Lucas is in his coma (2002). Hesitation. Contemplative Sami ficlet as she confesses her love for Brandon. Yummyyummymen * The Surprise. Smutlet. Multiple Authors/Collaborations/Round Robins * Frankly, My Dear. Lucas and Sami as Rhett and Scarlett. (Written many years before another fanbase tried to claim its leading man as Sami's Rhett, incidentally. Ali Sweeney once gave an interview to 2C in which she was asked what role she would like to play and chose Scarlett, in honor of 2C's then-infatuation with the concept.) * Forget and Forgive. This round robin defies a summary, actually. There's amnesia, Peter Blake, truck drivers, and Green Mountain Lodge. * Lumi Goes South. Lucas has named his new SUV Lumi, and he and Sami blog as they travel. * Campfire Dreams. Lucas, Sami, and Will on a camping trip. * Snowflakes. A romantic ski trip. Late Night Smut Club. Title should tell you most of what you need to know. Chatroom format. Lumi Couch Sessions. The Salem Serial Killer is on the loose, and Lucas and Sami are falling in love. But Sami knows Belle lied to give Marlena an alibi, and that lie cost Alice her life. * The Storm SeriesThe Storm Series. Smutlets-- Cassie/Philip, Rex/Mimi, Lucas/Sami. My most favorite stories from this list are definately the smulets I love Red Hot,Sexy Lumi loving that sends my pulse racing and makes me fan myself and say wohoooo and Yeah baby now thats what I'm talking about for that was sooo good and soo hot and I absolutely loved it love it loved it loved it for it truly set my computer screen on fire. I love all the fanfictions on this list. Thanks for posting these awesome reading choices for the summer to read for all these stories truly rock and really wonderful and are really awesome.

I really wanted to do that but the Dimera's never really fit into the story the way I wanted and I was running out of story so it never materialized the way I intended.
