Lumi Lover Posts: 1,060 Group: All Access Lumi Member #44 Joined: March 22, 2006	If Ken was smart he'd pitch Days to ABC or CBS before renewing with NBC if they offer it. Honestly, I think that's the only thing that would save the show at this point. ABC especially is known for having Good soap Operas, specifically General Hospital and once upon a time OLTL and AMC. But Kenny isn't smart apparently, because I truly feel that NBC is purposefully trying to get Days cancelled so they can get out of Daytime Soaps.

Lumi B.A. Posts: 1,519 Group: All Access Lumi Member #777 Joined: June 7, 2007	NBC hasn't been doing well in the soaps department for some time now. Sunset Beach was such a complete flop that I thought for sure that they would simply keep just Days and Another World but then Another World got cancelled and Passions came on. Really the first year or so of Passions wasn't so bad, the witch and her little doll were actually quite entertaining. But then it did about a million and a half really stupid things and ratings just steadily dropped from there.

My point though, is if he was smart he'd try to pitch Days to ABC or CBS. ABC would probably take it as they tend to take most of the former Days actors/acresses and put them on their soaps where they can actually be used in a good storyline.

Lumi B.A. Posts: 1,519 Group: All Access Lumi Member #777 Joined: June 7, 2007	I don't know if CBS or ABC would be open to another soap, it seems that all of the networks are thining out the soaps to make room for daytime talk shows and those "judge" shows that I always change the channel from. Here over 1/2 of our programing is paid advertisments! It's crazy, even the car dealers have them. If there's 1/2 hour free then there's a paid advertisment on.

I don't think CBS or ABC would take the risk....CBS just had two shows cancelled in 2 years..the only way I can see it happening is if CBS decides to go with it because they know Days has a following but if they do their research and see the decline in viewership the last few years in particular they might say, "NOPE!"

Lumi Masters Posts: 2,628 Group: All Access Lumi Member #946 Joined: July 9, 2008	Unless the NBC execs insisted on rapemi, I don't see how NBC is having to lift a finger to get Days cancelled, looks like Tomlin is doing a fine job of that all on his own.... and rapemi is the reason that I don't see ABC wanting anything to do with Days. Contrary to what one fanbase seems to believe, controversy does not equal ratings boost and there is such a thing as bad publicity, just ask BP.

Lumi Masters Posts: 4,315 Group: All Access Lumi Member #133 Joined: March 24, 2006	ABC knows that Days hasn't done a very good job with this storyline at all in pretaining to taking this issue and cotraversy surrounding it yet very seriously they haven't punished the rapist yet in this scenario and let him get away with murder where he winded up going unpunished for what he did and where he winded up doing more awful things to Sami and the rest of the town plus the show should have had Sami report this a long time ago and Sami should have had Sami go into counciling a long time ago and punished the rapist then with severe cosequences for raping her then. The only way I can see the show getting out of this contraversy now is to either kill the rapist off perminently for good or to truly punish him for every rotten thing hes done to almost everyone in Salem by serving him with a perminent coma one he never wakes up from and to correct the wrong they started in making Johnny the rapis'st child in the first place by saying that Johnny is Lucas son instead and that the results were tampered with from the start. The show needs to do something to get out of the mess they put themselves in in the first place Sami still needs to see a therapist that I still truly believe she doesn't need to punishing herself like this and doesn't need to be keeping her kids held hostage in this sort of situation either around her rapist she needs to realize this and needs to realize she needs to get counciling for what was done to her at EJ's hands. If Days would deal with their issues better ABC might reconsider but since they haven't they won't plus ABC made sure their rapists were truly punished to the full extent even to the point where they had them killed them off for good something Days hasn't done yet but truly needs to. Sami needs to stop being EJ's victim and she needs to fight back stand up to him take her kids away from that situation and get out of that house and not let him boss her around and act like a bully toward both her and her kids and Sami needs to put her footdown once and for all and not let him get away with this and destroy EJ Dimera for good this time.
