I've started watching Days again. We finally got AFN (Armed Forces Network) back up somewhat. At least the signal comes through in the morning when Days is on. Now if they could fix it in the evening so I could see Bones...

Anyway, I got to see Jack's scenes with Marlena in the group session with the vets/military. I thought he was awesome. MA is really doing a great job. I wish they had gone a little more in depth with the vets, but overall I thought they did a good job. I've been in those sessions myself and it's hard for everyone coming back home. I wish vets got more help adjusting and reassimilating. Jack is believable and MA really makes you feel what he's going through.

The more I see of Jack, the less I want him with Jen though. I hate how they've changed her. And really it has nothing to do with Dan. It could be anyone that she was involved with and my feelings would be the same.

I hope they give Jack someone awesome to be with. Someone who understands him and appreciates him the way Jen used to.

I loved those Jack scenes. I was stunned by how moving and socially responsible the whole thing was. I kept forgetting that the vets were real and thinking "maybe Abby should meet that one," lol. The last scene with all the hugging was fantastic.

But it does leave me with less than 0 sympathy for Jennifer and puts another nail in the coffin of a once-great couple.
Do you remember what she told him? She took her lover’s hand, and she said, “just because something is intangible doesn't mean that it's not real.” Lucas, no matter what happens, no matter what we’ve been through, no matter what I say, you will always be in my heart. -- Sami Brady, November 2007

I'm glad you got to see the episode that aired last Thursday those Jack and Marlena scenes last week were truly the highlight of the show plus Days had a message included at the end which was nice for all those serving their country in the armed forces which was really nice and I'm glad you got to see that special episode last week with the military vetrans sharing their stories about going through what Jack went through when he was captured and held hostage.

I think its great that you got to see that episode last week of Jack and the military vetrans sharing their stories together and then sharing a group hug which was really nice for those scenes were the highlight of the show for that paticular episode now if they could just have more scenes like these continue in the show we truly all set.

Jennifer is a piece of work alright right now not caring about the fact Jack was captured and about the fact he was being tortured as well as to why he couldn't make it home to her and the kids because he didn't do it intentionly and wanted to come home to her and the kids and her not understanding that and understanding Jack was captured and tortured and went through a horrible ordeal should make Jennifer feel terrible that she treated Jack like dirt and with the fact that she got involved with Daniel when she shouldn't have gotten involved with Daniel at all and she needs to feel guilty about the way shes been treating Jack for Jack went through quite an ordeal and was captured and totured and couldn't make it home to his family though he tried repeatedly to get back to Jennifer and the kids shes the one who should feel awful for her awful behavior towards Jack and shes the one who needs to fight for Jack and fight to bring their family together and needs to dump Daniel.

Jack did nothing wrong and Jennifer needs to realise that as well for Jack's situation of trying to get back home to his family was completely out his control when he was captured and tortured in the cave and Jennifer needs to feel guilty and feel awful about whats shes recently said and done to Jack that he didn't deserve plus she needs to feel guilty about her actions of getting involved with Daniel in the first place and also for not giving Jack the love and support he needs now more then ever with the tramitic event he went through that brought on his PTSD.

Jennifer is the one who needs to come around and fight for Jack and her family and Jennifer is the one who needs to prove herself to Jack and needs to start treating him better then she has and do just that and Jennifer is the one who needs to not give up on Jack and be more supportive toward Jack and the horrible ordeal that he had to endure and that he went through to get home to his family for again Jack did nothing wrong and Jennifer is the one who needs to feel guilty and feel awful that she treated Jack horrible he needs her love and support and needs her to help him get through this and she needs to drop the insensitve, hypocrital act and needs to get that chip off her shoulder and needs to treat Jack better then she has and needs to fight to be with Jack once more and needs to dump Daniel and fight for Jack and fight to bring their family together once more and not leave Jack alone but shes the one who's got a lot of changing and growing up to do not Jack for Jack didn't do anything wrong.

I was so moved by the therapy session and yes Jack broke my heart. I was so excited for MA that he finally got to showcase his amazing talent in these scenes. I loved the real life soldiers and as I was watching, I kept wanting them to stay on the show and for certain characters to leave, lol.

Anyway, I totally agree about J&J, I don't want them together anymore and this episode really drove that home for me. Jack was all alone and it seemed Marlena (who I'm loving so much these days) and the vets cared more about him than Jen ever will. That is so sad and it tells me that Jen is not the woman for Jack anymore. Jack deserves better and I also agree that it doesn't really have anything to do with Dan. Jen has become a heartless, cruel woman. Maybe when they took out her heart last year the one they put back in wasn't hers. Who knows. I REALLY want Jack to find someone new and not to make Jennifer jealous. I really want him to fall in love with someone else and for that person to love Jack just as much. If I was still a diehard J&J fan, this would be very hard for me but since I'm not anymore (and that was long before they made Jennifer into a cold, heartless shrew), I feel much better about this. I guess MarDar's intention was to destroy one of the longtime legacy supercouples and they definitely succeeded. In fact I find much more redeemable qualities in Sami than I see in Jennifer right now. I don't recognize Jen at all anymore, it's like she has lost not only her heart but also her soul. Sadly even Jack cannot help her get that back and frankly, it's not his job to do so. Jack deserves to live his life and be happy. I don't care what happens to the character of Jennifer from now on.

These scenes were some of the best since the reboot and one of best MA performances in a while. The scenes were moving and hit home. You know with the talk of rewrites for J&J's story, I wonder if Days really didn't realize that J&J were still very popular, so they had decided to go with Dannifer and gave Dan a break to be able to show some movement in Jennifer away from Dan and toward Jack. The problem with that is that it SHOULD have happened even with Dan in town, no need to get rid of the guy to show Jennifer's feelings for the man she's loved for over 20 years. It's stupid.

At this point I'm fine with Dannifer. Jennifer deserves a sleaze like Dan, not a great guy like Jack. I will have no problem FFing them, lol.

Those scenes were fantastic and heartbreaking at the same time. MA did a fabulous job and it would be really nice if they followed up with those meetings.

As for Jack and Jen, I was a big fan of theirs, but I am no more. Ever since they have rewritten Jennifer to be such a shrew, I’d rather Jack just walk away from her. I’d like to see Jack be a strong character not revolving around Jennifer for a change.

The worst thing is that Jennifer seems to have more sympathy for Dan not being able to use his hand anymore than for Jack & what he`s going thought.

You Tube is a good place to look just look for the date the episode aired Last Thursday's episode would be under Days Of Our Lives January 26,2012 episode and someone should have the episode in its entirety on You Tube.

I actually cried during that episode. Not just because of Jack, but because of what those young men and women go through overseas. I can't even imagine.

I agree about Jack and Jen. As far as I'm concerned, they are over. Jack deserves WAY better.

I agree. Jen has been way too harsh and uncaring with Jack, yet she gets all sad over Daniel's shaky hand. Please. GMAB.

I watched the clips at the
"Devoted To Deveraux" website.
(Note to be respectful that it's a Jack&Jennifer site)

http://thedeverauxclan.yuku.com/

It's in their video forum "WATB"
and click on 2012, January 26.

Their clips are in .wmv format

What an episode!
I cried and cried and cried.

It's been 24 hours since I watched it, and the feelings are still with me. Very deep.

(h) I cannot adequately express.

Here is the article from Soap Opera Weekly
(as posted on Daytime Royalty)
interviewing Matt Ashford about this veterans episode
http://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8636239/1/
Quote:

This week, DAYS merges reality with fiction when Marlena persuades Jack to attend a group therapy session that includes real-life veterans. Matthew Ashford talks with Weekly about the powerful episode.

Weekly: How does Marlena get Jack to attend her therapy session for veterans who struggle with post-traumatic stress?
Ashford: For Jack, it's totally unexpected. They meet and she tells him, "In a few minutes, there's going to be this meeting." Marlena kind of waylays him, because she knows if Jack has time to think about it, he'll disappear.

Weekly: When Jack does discover the purpose of the meeting, how does he feel about participating in a session with veterans?
Ashford: At first, Jack feels very much like an idiot. These are soldiers, military veterans who chose to serve their country, whereas Jack sort of wandered into it because he wanted a news story. What Jack discovers is a bunch of people who are damaged, just like him. These are people who are struggling to put their lives back together and Jack realizes, in that respect, he's no different.

Weekly: One of the veterans, Leslie Nicole Smith, shares a story that closely resembles her own real-life experience. Other stories are scripted, but at similar in tone. What are your feelings about this approach?
Ashford: Thanks to shows like DAYS and this storytelling, we have a chance to learn something, maybe not with our heads, but with our hearts. We don't really know much about this war because we haven't seen much of it. It's another way of taking in this huge piece of information about what war does to human beings.

Weekly: What was it like working with the veterans?
Ashford: A good many of them are interested in acting. The same thing happened after World War II, and also Vietnam. Bob Woods (ex-Bo, OLTL) and David Forsyth (ex-John, AW, ex Hogan SFT) are Vietnam vets. I worked with both of them, and I realized that they brought their experiences with them into their performances. They're both very subtle men who have a sense of humor, but they also cover up a lot of stuff, which is ideal for an actor.

Weekly: What effect does attending the session ultimately have on Jack?
Ashford: No one walks out of the session cured. They walk out of there determined to go one more day. I think Jack is a forever changed individual because of his experiences in Afghanistan. There are emotions he has been fighting to control. Maybe this will bring up emotions that have been dormant.

I just finished watching Jack's scenes and I loved them. I am a huge J&J fan and I have been so disappointed by the way their relationship has been written. Jennifer went through that breakdown scene with Jack and still pines for Dr. Dan. What is up with that?

I am just hoping some where along the way Jennifer's character gets a reboot and we can have the Jack and Jen of old. I truly miss their adventures plus at times they were so funny.

I was watching some old J&J scenes on YouTube. I miss them so much. I can't believe what they've done to Jennifer. I really don't like her now. They need to bring someone kind and real to be with Jack.
